INSTANT REACTION: Boston Celtics hit 25 3-pointers in win against Phoenix Suns
Ford dealers. Built for America. Built Ford proud. >> Look at this, a steal. Brown. Oh! >> Oh! >> And two of a game. High 37 for Jaylen Brown as the Celtics get the win 127 to 112 at Celtics Postgame Live. Tom Giles Scal Eddie. And we talked about
It at halftime. You know the Celtics had a five point lead. Felt like that. Everything was looking good offensively that you look at the rebounding in the second half. And they just kind of ran away with it. >> We rebounded the ball. We spanked teams like we’re playing such good basketball right now
That we were. When we write down keys to the game like if we rebound and keep low turnovers, as good as we are playing right now, we’re going to win games and this is what we saw in the second half. All we had to do was rebound the ball and blow
This thing open. Our guys are too talented. We spaced so well and we have so much shooting on the floor. You don’t know where to put your attention to. >> Yeah. Could you leave me something to say? Because I’ve been to say everything that you just. My bad. No no no no no,
Not like that. I’m not saying it as a diss. I’m saying I’m I’m feeling everything you’re saying. That’s exactly what I’m talking about. Rebounding the basketball. Right? We take care of it and we take care of the basketball. Our spacing on the floor. Like, that’s what I’ve been looking at lately is our
Spacing offensively. When we get into our offense, whether it is in transition and we don’t have it and we attack and we pull it back out, we pass the ball. Everybody’s in the right spot. Every you know when you set that pick and roll it’s a lot of space. So either somebody coming
Off scoring somebody coming off making a pass and then the secondary pass to the hockey the hockey pass. So I mean when they’re playing like this and it all starts to me it’s all spearheaded by their defense. When they’re locked in defensively I feel like they can get whatever they want.
>> Yeah. And you kind of saw that in the third quarter and even bleeding into the fourth quarter. And then Jaylen Brown taking over in this one. And your game high scoring the basketball. You know it also felt like Phoenix was trying to make a run there maybe early in
The fourth. And Jaylen just took over made a couple really tough buckets. >> So Phoenix had to do some desperation. Things like trap guys way outside and be in rotation. So just handle all that stuff. But when you watch Jaylen Brown play in this game, it shows you he could beat you
In transition. He could beat you with the catch and shoot off the ball. He can take it to the basket. He can be a primary initiator of the offense. He can post you. He got the fade. He could get you in off the steal I mean Jaylen Brown could do it
All. And that’s what we saw today. And that’s how he came up with 30 7A3 level score right. >> You know outside mid range at the rim. That’s what he can do. And he’s a defender a guy that wants to lock down. He’ll go find the guy that’s supposed to
Be the guy. He’ll defend the those players is this scout. Think about this scout somebody’s got. He is the highest. He got the highest contract right. Yeah. Of in NBA history. Now when he you get that you have a target on your back. The one thing that I love
About what Jaylen Brown has done I think his game has went to another level. Jaylen Brown is so much better this year than he was last year. And I am I tripping or am I. >> But is he just better at everything he does. Like just it’s not like he did one thing.
He didn’t add one thing to his game. He’s just like across the board. He handles better, handles, handles, not just the ball, but like, you know, like situations better, reads the defense better. I think he’s defending better. Right. Probably finishing in the break better holding his line when he
Gets downhill. You saw him gave that shoulder to Brad Beal. So he’s just like and he said this all along from day one. Since he’s been here I’m just going to keep working on my game and get better. I’m just going to keep doing. You guys are going to see
I’m just going to keep working and I’m going to keep improving. He said it and he did it and he’s doing it right now. And I agree with Eddie. He got the bag and everyone can understand. You know you’re you’re lined up to get the big contract to become
An all NBA player. But even then, if at that level, it is really hard to improve everything you do, there are other players that stop improving. So there are other players that start going down. Jaylen Brown continues to climb and get better at all aspects of his game.
>> And yeah again 14 of 23 from the field five of nine from three. And just stuffing the stat sheet everywhere else. Meanwhile Jayson Tatum we talked about what he was doing in the first half. He had 23 points in the first half. Finished with 26. But what about the reads
Eddie that he made in the second half when you saw him really start to distribute the ball? >> Well, this is the thing that if people don’t watch the game, right, and they just pick up the stat sheet and look and say, well, he had 23 in the first
Half. Oh, he oh, he only had three in the second half. Jayson Tatum also has worked on his game in different ways. The way that he affects winning okay. He understands that if I draw two I can get other guys open. It’s going to eventually it’s going
To all come back to him. When you play the game, the right way, it always comes back to you and tenfold. Okay. But if you start trying to be selfish and start trying to hunt out shots and you miss a guy because you’re like, I ain’t took a shot
Or I only scored three points, I need to go get ten points. It never works out in your favor or the team’s favor in the long run. Maybe 1 or 2 games. Yeah, that might work. But when you’re a championship level team, to me that shows growth as well. Like
We’ve seen both of these players just get so much better individually. And then also understanding how they could be so much better for the team and what they need to do to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. So when I look at Jayson Tatum, we know he going
To score the ball. We know that. But it’s all the other things. It’s the small little intangibles of recognizing the to make the pass quicker than holding on for it a second. So now the rotation is there to the guy he’s supposed to be passing to. He gets off of it quicker.
Now they’re really in rotation. And now there’s another pass to a wide open shot. So I mean to me just looking at the development of these two players and their understanding of the game, and I think that’s why this team is so good is because you’re two top players, you’re
Your best players have a high basketball IQ and they’re selfless. >> Yeah. And they seem to do it differently. Like to me Jaylen Brown when he’s at his best he’s always in attack mode always aggressive I think Tatum is at his best when he’s making plays. But he has his moments and Tatum
18 points in like six minutes. You’re like whoa. How did he just do that. Because you’ll see it like three three. Lay up get to the post. Take a guy to the basket. And next thing you know like in the first half he has a bunch of points in a small
Amount of time, you know. So I think that I think those are both the strengths of the guys. And I think we’re starting to see that right now. Remember, I was I was really critical of Jaylen Brown when he said, I got to make sacrifices. I got to be
The guy that distributes. I’ve already showed I can score. Now I’m getting other people involved. I don’t actually think that the Celtics are at their best when he does that, but I do believe that Celtics are at their best when Jayson Tatum does that and then he has his
Moments where he gets, you know, the 14 points in 3.5 minutes. So that seems to be the personality that fits his team the best and seems to be the personality. See when they when this team thrives the best. >> All right. And those two guys obviously combining for 63
Points in this one as the Celtics get the win. Meanwhile you’re going to send it back out to the garden where Abby Chin has Jrue Holiday a lot of narratives coming into this game. >> First one out of a road trip. The way you guys are playing. How elite is this group at
Blocking all of that stuff out? And what does a win like this say about this team? >> I didn’t hear him. I was trying to I was trying to sleep. I’m prepared for the game because of the road trip. I mean, you understand, you know how late we got in. So,
Honestly, it’s about taking it a game at a time, focusing on ourself and the things we have to do to, to accomplish winning this game, which we just played him, figured that they’d play a little differently with book. And we came out and executed that. >> Yeah. Joe told me pregame
Defensively was going to take a lot of variety against them. How were you guys able to hold Katie to five points after the first quarter? It’s kind of like what you said. >> I’m throwing a lot at him. I don’t think it was just one person. I think it was
Definitely a team effort. Being able to kind of distract him in different ways and not really get the big into the switch when sometimes it’s the guard. Joe is weird like that, but I just think doing it as a team effort, it’s definitely, definitely more fun that way.
>> As a fellow elder statesman, what’d you think about Al Horford tonight? Are you okay with that. >> Oh I love it I love it. I was like he’s the OG but he’s probably the most reliable player that I’ve ever played with. I think being able to be
On the court with him is an honor. But being out there with him, I just know everything is going to go well. Every time he gets on the court, you just know he’s going to do something, do something great. So a big game from him started us off going
Crazy and super happy for the win. >> Finally Jrue Holiday at this moment you guys are ten games up in the East. How crazy is that? Midway through March, it’s a good feeling, but you don’t want to get too high. The playoffs are different. I think when it comes down to it, obviously
Having these wins is really big and seeing wins is really big. But I think to be able to thank you, see y’all later. >> I think he said his piece. >> All right. Thanks, Abby, yeah. Talking about big Al I
We recap the Celtics fourth straight win as they returned home from their trip to beat Phoenix 127-112. Jaylen brown had 37 and Al Horford was huge, scoring 24 points, including six 3’s. Tom Giles is joined by Brian Scalabrine and Eddie House to discuss the game, plus Abby chin talks exclusively with Jrue Holiday.

My god what a beautiful game and JB is seriously giving JT a run for his money ๐. Itโs a good thing, you want them to be competitive with each other in a friendly way!
#7JB El Fuego is the ALPHA of this teamโ๏ธ๐โ๐พ๐คโ๏ธ๐๐คโ๐พ๐โ๐พ
Jaylen isn't here to make friends thid year. Marcus is gone, now he is the heart and soul on steroids

JB needs his flowers man the dude is straight BALLING!!! He got so much better from last season. He doesnโt over dribble and takes way better shots!
I want to see this JB all postseason.
Tatum snatched Jrue at the end lol
Al was looking like ATL hawks Al Horford lol. Love that dude! Heโs the reason we blew up that lead in the 4th.
Complete domination!

Dear Mr. Scalabrine,
Why are you flaring your collar and showing off your big, deep horizontal neck/chest wrinkle like you're a 1970s disco dancer and the neck fold is a gold chain? Sir, you are white. Skin features like that associated with natural aging and weight gain really stand out on you versus, for example, Max. What you should pivot to is: Turtlenecks. Who cares if it's a hot look or out of style, it suits you best. You, your neck-chest fold, and the entire Celtics organization have a prestigious standard to uphold. Good luck shopping for turtlenecks.
Sincerely,
Paul
Suns missed shots, again turnovers hurt them, the refs no calls, and Celtics made a bunch of 3's… Vogel took Bol Bol out the game… Suns can still make it to The Finals, but they won't win a championship this year…

Vogel made that play even worse by calling a timeout to stop a 4 on 5 with JB howling. I love it ๐๐๐
Great commentary, guys. JB was supernatural at points tonight. Go C's!
The Celtics were surgical tonight! Total team win!!
JB has silenced the Max Contract criticsโฆ..for good I hope. ๐ชโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
Thereโs only about 6 games that are against decent teams left in the season. Celtics about to play a whole lot of garbage the rest of the way
scal sounds super slow today
Great job, Celtics. Keep the turnovers low, attack the rim, and play the stingy defense. But DON'T rely too much on the 3-pointers, as sexy as those are. Jaylen is a beast, and Jayson needs to be consistently dominant.
JB all NBA team and all defensive team this year
The Suns came out swingingโฆ on JT. The refs allowed it and JB took that personally. You can see that he started targeting players that were getting away with fouling JT. Just went straight bully ball on them.
Team basketball is the key. The overreacting by some fans and the media after a loss is nonsense. Enjoy the ride because it will end in a championship for the Celtics this season.
Waiting…..since 2008—
Larry & Magic days-

Absolutely love JB. He is on a mission. This allows Tatum to kick back and not be the Super Star Every game. Takes the pressure off Tatum and he can effectively read the game for other players. Both guys development is off the charts.
I was born in 1986, Iโm 38 years old. Boston has only won 2 rings in my life out of 17. In 2008, that was the only one I remember. I need this as a Cโs fan.
I've been trying to find the right comps for both Jayson and Jaylen Brown and I think I got it.
Jaylen Brown is Vegeta–aggression, force, power, verocity with the ball in his hand.
Jayson Tatum is Goku — the model citizen, smooth, graceful, the silent killer.
Scal you still sound like a Jaylen Brown hater lmao. Heโs become a playmaker and he doesnโt benefit from the JB double anymore because JB scores the most when JT isnโt even on the floor. Yall can say nice things about JB without worrying that you also have to say something nice about JT too. I get it heโs the super star and franchise player but today currently JB is playing like a top 10 player in the league post all star break and thatโs not shade to JT. Two things can be true
Scal had a few
The energy is about to shift๐ช
-JB
the disrespect jaylen gets is absolutely insane lol guy can go off for 50 at will and he's not consistently considered one of the best 10-20 players in the league
Jrue to Jayson off camera: "if you ever see me in an interview and you walk by, i do not wanna be there. grab me and take me away"
The best part of this game was Joe trying to block O'Neale's shot ๐
JB top 10 and about to pass Tatum for 6
JB has to learn to shoot foul shots.
