Disallowed the 3 and took 15 seconds of gameclock away after Draymond was deemed out of bounds.

LeBron was down 3 points and 15 seconds, he packed that shit in and went home lol.

  2. I get that it’s similar to if the player has their foot on the line and you change it from a 3 to a 2 but man it just changes the entire tenor of the game going from a 4 point lead to a 7…I feel like it’s really weird to take that off.

  3. SockVonPuppet

It sounds like there was a back up shot clock and that wasn’t working either.

I haven’t checked my spare tire pressure in years. I should probably do that.

If this was anyone but Lebron honestly we’d all be clapping and saying it was out of bounds and this wouldn’t even be a conversation.

Remember that time they reviewed an unreviewable play where LeBron took a charge on KD in the 2018 finals Game 1, same shit different day.

  6. TheSmokedSalmon420

Isn’t that how they won game 1 of the finals in 2018? The refs went back and overturned a call years before there were challenges lol

  7. Solid-Confidence-966

The game should be stopped immediately following any 3 point attempt the refs feel is reviewable.

David Guthrie crying in the corner cause he can’t satisfy anybody. Maybe try calling the game fair and consistent.

In terms of the retroactive review, it’s been a thing for a while now and it gets the correct call applied…no use crying over it.

how come in the NFL if they miss a out of bounds the offense would hurry to the line and snap the ball so it can’t be overturned. So if the refs had suspicion that Lebron out out of bounds, they should stop the game right there, this isn’t soccer where its gonna stay 0-0. IMO if the refs missed it Lakers got lucky. if it was a 2 or 3 shot i would understand since it doesn’t stop the game and lets both teams know what happened

  11. Literally happened to the Heat against the Celtics with Max Strus. It does suck

  12. rbrutonIII

    Yeah, it’s a problem.

The accuracy and calling plays right is great, don’t get me wrong. But there is just no consistent way to try and call these things without completely destroying the flow of the game. Are they going to stop and review every single play? No. Does something happen on almost every single play that could probably elicit a whistle? Yes. So there’s no way to do this the right way without doing it in a way that’s just not going to be…. Right.

  13. LoWE11053211

did they do that in 2022 ECF G7?

Heat may win that game if the Strauss 3 was counted.

I may have the wrong memory

What’s crazy about this play in particular is I’m not sure he actually stepped out. His heel is over the line but in views I’ve seen I feel like you can see the shadow under his shoe. Golden State also wasn’t retroactively effected by the basket they scored when they used like 40 seconds of a shot clock either. Just a bizarre sequence of events.

  15. Ricksauc3

Agree completely. Said this as it was happening.

  16. ngorman007

Happened to the Suns earlier this season (can’t remember the game)

    Defective product, Mr. Silver

Steve Kerr is many things but he’s not a hater

  18. goldyacht

This was such a horrible ending they took away his 3 which basically brought the game out of reach and then had a 20 minute break which killed any momentum Lebron and lakers had. That shot clock shit should never happen in a billion dollar league.

  19. RomeoBMcFlourish

What would have happened if they just kept playing without a stoppage until like 21 seconds left?
Are they still going back to look at an out of bounds call, and removing 3 points, at the 2:07 mark?

  20. PeelADomenBail

I understand checking to see if a three is a 3 or a 2 in crunch time at timeouts, but I’ve seen two recently that were bizarre. One was Norm Powell from the corner and his heel is hovering over but not touching. Like if I stand on the balls of my feet with my heels up over the line, that’s out? Idk. There was another just like this too but I forget

  21. above_the_odds

That was as close of an out of bounds or not play I’ve seen. Reddick mentioned the shadow under the back of the shoe and his back heel wasn’t fully down. Since he’s jumping it wouldn’t physically make sense for him to put his full back heel all the way down, it’s more a forefoot action, you tend to lift up the heel at the point right before the jump after the gather, not plant the full heel down.

    🤷🏽‍♂️ Super close call.

Rest of that 15min break was ridiculous. I was just laughing at the absurdity of it lol.

  22. DanTheWhat

The same thing happened to the suns on an Eric Gordon 3, like 4 possessions later they took the 3 away with under 2 minutes left. I had never seen that shit before and it was such a mood killer and just ridiculous

  23. I agree with kerr. It’s so odd that they can go back and look at something that isn’t even challenged. If lebron missed that 3 but someone came in with a putback dunk, they don’t go back and look to see that he was out of bounds.

  24. At one point, they put up the stat that 11 minutes had elapsed with 3 seconds on the clock passing. And that was *before* all the shot clock shenanigans. It had been a pretty good game before that, though I think the commentators made it seem like the Lakers had more of a chance than they did.

  25. myxallion

Make the 3 point line and base line light up. Everytime a player steps on it it lights up 🤡

  26. Finally a makeup call for bulls vs cavs game 4 2015
