What happened to this team

We all know theyre capable of performing like this, they still showed some glimpse in their recent games vs Pelicans, OKC. Thats what frustrates me the most. Its not like this team showed no potential at all. They looked fluid during IST fck man. Tbh, that run reminded me a little bit of 2020 team, they were in 4th seed. AD and LBJ were both locked in, and the supporting cast also looked different during these span of games, hence going undefeated and winning the IST, after this game it all went downhill and at first we thought it was just exhaustion but its not, cause even they got 3 day rest vs King, they still look tired. They had us in the first half lol.

  1. People put way too much stock in that IST. Can’t believe people were saying it was fatigue after winning it, single elimination. One extra game, come on. It was cool winning it, but that shit faded within days.

  2. BearShark8

They played the Suns without their full roster, played Memphis I think without Ja. Then in the playoffs they played the pelicans and pacers, not exactly contenders.

  3. We got fortunate matchups, its not a hard concept to grasp

We had an easy run to the IST final and Ham actually had a good game plan for the finals vs the pacers.

The IST is a distant memory now. Ham’s a bad coach, various injuries, but most importantly, the players on this team just aren’t good enough to replicate last years flukey WCF run.

Lebron can lock in for a short period of a time. Regular season games, he’s too old to stay locked while playing 30+ mins per game.

  6. CabbageStockExchange

Darvin Ham is a terrible coach and the roster has too many one dimensional players who when injured all of a sudden leaves us at an extreme deficit at one area on the court

  7. Prudent-Claim1775

Rob Pelinka. The man that Jeanie Bus refuse to fire

  8. We have an incompetent coach. Ham might be ok as an assistant but he’s not head coach material. He’s a tool.

  9. Dismantling of that roster and building a worse one instead is what happened. Notice how quickly Denver pounced on kcp after the lakers moved him to Washington. They then immediately gave him an extension before he had played a minute with them. I wouldn’t be surprised if their front office sits around laughing at the Lakers for that fuck up and deservedly so

There’s a lot of problems with this team that we just don’t have any way to address. When guys were inconsistent on offense in 2020 they still played above average defense. Now when guys aren’t hitting shots they’re defensive sieves. On the other side of the ball it’s the opposite problem, our best defenders outside of AD have been hurt or can’t do anything on offense. Then of course you have age and inept coaching.

Darvin Ham is a bad coach plus we can’t expect Lebron to carried us all season because he is old now. We need our core guys to stay healthy & be consistent

Lebron being lebron and everyone else being themselves point blank period

It ain’t the playoffs. Notice how they were very average until the IST games? Like they dominated an IST game and went back to average before the IST ended?

The truth is Bron and AD have to pace themselves, and the team follows that and paces themselves instead of stepping up. This is not a team that gives full effort each night even though Bron gives as much as he can given his age.

Even while pacing they could still fall apart and miss playoffs or suffer injuries causing early unimpressive efforts. Just have to hope they could catch lightning in a bottle again and turn up when the stakes are higher.

The first mistake was thinking the IST meant anything.

Small sample size, and we got lucky.

  16. Hopeful-Percentage76

They got their bag ($500k) and decided to take a vacation.

  17. NoPin5154

Literally everyone other than have was healthy here

  18. RiverCityRansomNote

    They fired Vogel. /endthread

This is not even the bubble chip photo, and I fail.

I’m not gonna like I think about that team every single day

You have tk remember the IST token place during the early season, before teams were whole, b4 they were in shape, and b4 they even got a chance to mesh. IST was br teams hit strides. Its not like we were playing great at that time. Its that our IST opponents were suspect af. Even Indiana is a different team than the 1 we whooped on.

This team has potential. That’s not the issue. Out stars aren’t playing great, imo, despite the #s hypnotizing everyone. That’s where it starts. Our stars.

  21. To be honest, this team is heavily reliant on Lebron and AD. Those two played out of their mind through that stretch. It really takes heroic efforts from those two to go up against the best teams, and even then, our potential is limited by Darvin.

This team has highs and lows. DLo plays well for a stretch, AR does, Rui, but nothing has been consistent and it’s due to a lack of a system and trust on Darvin. When the team starts losing, they default to deferring to Lebron and AD, always. If they aren’t on, good luck. It takes DLo making 9 threes or something unrepeatable.

They literally took the team that won a title and completely dismantled it, and then fired the coach who won us the chip despite having a poorly constructed roster and dealing with injuries (and still coached us to have the #1 defense the following year).

    When will management take responsibility?

  23. ObviousTruth12

Defense and inexperienced coaching stubbornness which comes with lack of accountability. This team’s as complacent as it gets given last year’s achievements.

  24. Famous-Monk-8771

Nothing happened lebron don’t care til it’s the playoffs they’re the regular season chiefs

  25. Forkmealready

The IST is clearly not an indication of playoff success. Although it was the first one so I understand why we were all hyped (I was too).

But realistically this is far from a championship roster. Lebron and AD can only take us so far and our front office took some huge gambles that did not pay off.

Our window is closing very quickly, if we don’t win this coming offseason, window is slammed shut..not to mention even if we have a perfect offseason the rest is largely reliant on the health of AD and LBJ. It’s highly unlikely they remain as healthy as this season.

Let’s all admire LBJ while he is still elite and not take him for granted. Get ready for a rebuild or start praying for a home run superstar free agent.
