[Bill Reiter] Sources tell @CBSSports that Los Angeles Lakers players Christian Wood, Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent will miss the rest of the season. While Vanderbilt still could return, sources say, the expectation is that will not happen. @espn first reported the news on Wood.

This sounds like the opposite of what we’ve been hearing about Vanderbilt and Vincent.

  2. MY-NAME_IS_MY-NAME

Really hoping he’s at least wrong about Vanderbilt. Really think we can make some noise with him

  3. KirkLangley2315

Didn’t someone catch AD slipping and saying “ guys practicing “ I mean getting healthier lol

  4. sahhhnnn

Knew this was coming. Write this one off boys, let’s pray for some big moves this offseason.

I’m so torn on resigning Bron to a max. I want to win one more 🏆 with him and AD so bad. But not with a bunch of misfits surrounding them.

  5. Sounds about right, as the Lakers haven’t been the most forthcoming with the true extent of the injury or at least an accurate timetable for returns

You gotta be kidding me..! 😭😭

  7. Wise_Ad_112

One thing i learned is never sign miami heat players

  8. Since people are obviously going to freak out, let me just say this. Could he end up being right? Yes, but chances are this is another case of a “twitter insider” wanting to be first over being right. No indications Gabe/Vando are out the season. Lastly, this the same guy in the offseason that said right as FA started that Kyrie was meeting with like 7+ teams. Kyrie somehow did all those meetings in like 30 minutes as he re-signed really quickly after FA started. Relax everyone and wait for Shams/Woj to actually tweet about it.

  9. great now that LeBron and AD are healthy our most valuable defenders are out

I thought Vincent was close but maybe his body is not responding well to the ramp up. Was hopeful Vando would be ready but with the recent report that he still hasn’t been cleared for full team activities or even close to it made me think it wasn’t very likely. If we can make a run down the stretch maybe Vando can try and ramp up again.

  11. PatientIndividual651

Haven’t we been hearing that Vincent was expected to be back soon? And that Vanderbilt was heading in that direction as well? wtf happened

  12. adocileengineer

We can’t do shit against anyone in the playoffs without Vando so I’m choosing not to believe this.

  13. MrAppleSpoink

This guy needs to show some fucking sources to make claims that are in such direct contradiction with every other report we’ve heard from the team.

  14. KingNephew

Did anyone *honestly* expect otherwise? If you’ve been a Lakers fan for even the last few years, you know l players aren’t coming back when the medical staff is overtly vague.

“He’s coming along well” or “he’s right on schedule” is code word for “we don’t know when this guys ever coming back”.

  15. redundantPOINT

Before we pile on the team, is this guy credible?

  16. Our front office has not been transparent at all with injuries…like wtf.

Ham says according to plan. How is that possible? The plan was for gabe go from return by early march to late march to now not in this season. Vando i was expecting to be out close to end of the season but there they were reports of him in the gym and working out so i was getting excited and optimistic it could be sooner.

  17. gaius_worzels_bird

I’m confused, they don’t specify regular season or post season. Not that it matters anyways 😔

  18. AShinyTorchic

Right in line with how you’d expect this franchise to handle/disclose injuries

    Were cooked. Another wasted season

  19. PurpleAndGold1

Didn’t Shams report that Vando and Vincent are starting to ramp up like a week ago?

  20. Tall_Succotash

I feel like vando could return if we get into the post season but who knows how long it would take to get him in game shape?

I’m counting obvs wood and Gabe out at this point, just sucks.

  21. PrimaryAcanthisitta8

Gabe can go ahead and get traded or cut in the offseason and take the Kendrick nunn route I see….

  22. Public-Product-1503

If this is real it’s a much bigger blow thdn people realise.

Go rewatch the last kings loss. Nba is allowing a shit ton of more physicality or just straight up hacking on defence . Vando with this better defensive whistle n his defensive rep/skill n physicality/hustle plays woukd gave immense impact . I like Rui offensively but vando gives us the rebounding n defence we need, and he could even play at the 2 tbh considering his defensive versatility n just have one of reaves or Dlo off bench

  23. Gristle__McThornbody

At least Vincent will be a nice salary filler in trades. Even if he comes back it’s going to be too late. Dudes need like a month to really get into in game shape and to find their footing within the team.

  24. LeBrons7thRing

Lol I thought I recognized the name. Same dude around the trade deadline that said the Lakers believe they have a chance at Donovan Mitchell during the off season. Never even heard of this guy until then

  25. iiivoted4kodos

The team just announced Christian Wood’s surgery yesterday.

Gabe Vincent has played 5 games all year and his return has been pushed back repeatedly and there’s 3 weeks left in the season.

Vando has always been the one close to coming back and this guy says he specifically is the one that COULD come back.

He’s a radio host not connected to the team in any way.

Why wouldn’t we assume that this guy is just speculating for clicks?

  26. KingDavid920

Never ever sign anyone from the Heat ever again

  27. WholeLottaLit

Gabe really got the easiest check in his life

  28. lakerconvert

Honestly our only chance (besides firing Ham) was the return of both Gabe and Vando. Dinwiddie simply isn’t going to cut it

  29. Lakers legit suck at player injury evaluation….. or they are just the biggest fucking liars ever.

  30. thinlion01

Even if Vando does come back is he gonna be as bad when he came back the first time? It took him forever to find a rhythm
