Joe Mazzulla: It’s an HONOR to Coach Jaylen Brown | Celtics vs Pistons Postgame
M was saying before the game how Jaylen he thinks just kind of just more dangerous as a shooter and scorer this year and you have to account from more from him what have you seen him on that end and then just what you see from him
Tonight in ch uh I’ve Just Seen uh uh great stuff I love just the way he’s carried himself out there in the court he’s processing each and every possession on both ends of the floor he’s taking the shots that he wants he’s making plays for himself for his
Teammates he’s uh he’s been an honor to coach him he’s been just playing well-rounded basketball in both ends uh uh you know so it’s been fun to watch it seemed like one of the plays you actually like the best was the the re to Sam at the end of the third there Sam
Miss the shot well that’s important because we had just been talking about ending quarters in game management and we we got the uh two for one in a really good spot and we watched a couple possessions of um not getting the last play and the last time we played them
They went on a 70 run to end the first quarter because we didn’t take the last part of Le because we didn’t take the last shot and so that was a point of emphasis for today and I thought his ability finish handling that ended the quarter uh was really important for us
And that was a great carryover along those lines um first and second quarter first quarter there was you know they’re up by six then you have Force the shock violation and then Payton quick three second quarter was I think a KP steel to break up there two for one give you guys
One like what what did you see that’s it just uh two 19point quarters is tremendous uh only seven turnovers Force 19 turnovers I just thought the guys found got off to a little bit of a slow start but I thought they found just a a
Great sense of joy and and uh like a physical spirit and uh just kind of dominated those margins and uh it was fun to watch them yeah defensively what do you feel like you found with the 19 turnovers uh just activity uh guys being able to do both guard Shooters uh and
And help inside the paint uh I thought they got off to a good start we were switching wisman uh and then we kind of just changed up the the matchups there and I thought that kind of slowed them down a little bit but the guys did a
Great job just finding different ways to uh impact the game defensively and and U playing different coverages and playing like connected defense what is the challenge to your team on this season long six game trip um I mean challenges on any trip I mean you know
Just continuing to play at a high level and keep the main thing the main thing and understand the importance of it take the possessions that we can learn from we can learn a lot from the first six minutes we from a negative standpoint we can learn a ton from the next 42 minutes
From a positive standpoint so just keep an open mind about learning about getting better and uh competing what do you like about these these nights like you know trying new starting lineup obviously three guys out just kind of try to new start lineup try to new start lineup in the second half I
Think just the open mindedness from the guy finding different ways to win two or three possessions uh you know we went on that little run in the second quarter we went zone for a possession switch the matchup so really it’s just I enjoy watching the guys compete at a high
Level and I think that’s important he’s got to keep that going so that’s fun to watch thank thank you rest of guys will be the Walker
