Finally someone who’s actually watching the Bucks play. Most of the media takes aren’t from people who are actually watching the team play, since Doc has been hired the Bucks look like a legit Boston threat.
Denver did it last year (coasted the last bit of the season) and played 4 close games against injured 8 seed, got to their level in the 3rd round, not every team can afford not to be 100% when they play off start

If not for Legs and JJ there'd be almost no real coverage of the sport. Sports media is destroying the history of basketball by focusing most of coverage on teams and players who have attracted the most attention, while neglecting the best teams and players on a season to season basis. Always enjoy their insights and analysis. In 3 meetings with the Celtics I think the Bucks lost by 2 in the first game. Second game Bucks blew them out the water winning by close to 30. Most recently the Bucks lost by 3 to the Celtics without Giannis which feels like a win. Over the course of the season the Celtics have been the better team, but Milwaukee under AG didnt really have a coach, they've had injuries, and since Doc has taken over they've been building habits and continuity. Im really not convinced if the Bucks stay healthy that entering the playoffs and maybe even right now that the Celtics are better. Fear the Deer!

This a classic example of why OKC is not a contender yet. Playoff type atmosphere, size and experience trumps talent every time. Giannis, Lopez, and Portis big-boyed tf out of Chet and Williams, and the defense sold out of stopping SGA and forced the weaker role players to beat them and they couldn't. They are great story and potentially a dynasty in the making, but realistically they are 2-3 years of strength training away from being able to really contend.
I feel like with all defenses, the start of a game is not talked about enough. There were so many times this season where average players like T.J. McConnel and Peyton Prichard (not picking on the white guys they just stick out as playing well above their averages) destroyed the bucks. A lot of that was due to in the beginning of their time on the floor, the bucks gave them really good looks and those players got into a zone. Then, even when the bucks were playing good defense later, it didn't matter. The same can be flipped when you play good defense early. They made Chet and SGA uncomfortable in the 1st quarter. Then, even when they got their typical shots later in the game, they weren't in rhythm. Great players can always change that with free throws, a lay up etc but a great defensive start helps so much to take at least a few players off the board that day. You don't expect it to be the claibar of SGA and Chet consistently. But in the playoffs, if they can take away a starter or two from feeling comfortable and avoid the hot guy off the bench, it will do wonders for our defense.

While the Bucks have gone back to their more familiar rim protecting, rebounding selves I still don't buy their POA and perimeter D. As long as Dame and Beez are one the court together they're not getting stops up top. Teams with exceptional guard play will exploit them come playoff tme.
