Perk to Monty Williams: There’s no mercy rule, this is PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL | NBA Today

Nicks they rolled the Pistons man 12499 thanks to Dante D venzo who scored a career-high 40 points set the Nicks single game record for the most three-pointers made with 11 but it was what was said after the game that raised a couple of eyebrows here was Piston’s

Coach Monty Williams after the game but first um Dante I mean if Jaylen passed the ball more I could have had probably 15 of them tonight but nah everybody was unselfish everybody was playing for one another and it was a fun game to be a

Part of I don’t care about their team at all could I could care less um those guys uh the way they got those threes I don’t want to be a part of that story if he don’t want to be a part of the story told guys to defend

Better say we got a guy that’s hot we’re going to try to find a guy that’s hot I mean that’s it’s Common Sense B okay pause Mii was clearly upset with Knicks running up the score at the end Josh Hart kind of had the perfect response though so uh perk chop it or

Drop it oh we got to chop it I gotta chop money Chop Chop Monty Williams up for a second first of all you should want to be a part of the Nick story because they actually win it nobody wants to be a part of the Detroit Pistons story right

Now you’re 12 and 60 you have the worst record in the NBA you can’t get mad at the Knicks because they’re doing their job this is not a local form league with it’s a mercy room rule if you wanted to stop it you should have game planed or

Trapped the man and slowed them down look the Knicks did nothing wrong this is professional basketball we’re talking about grown men again Monty Williams is upset at the wrong person or the wrong team he should be upset with the individuals that he’s coaching in that locker room so Kendrick Perkins and Josh

Hart clearly agree on this one enough said next up the Clippers they lost 133 to 116 to the Pacers last night who were on the second night of a back toback by the way across the street they’re now 8 and 10 since the All-Star break they’ve Fallen to fifth in the Western

Conference and let’s just say that head coach tyo he was not too happy about his team’s performance last night take a listen right now do we have an identity um I think yeah we’re soft that could be an identity if you want to call that like we got to be tougher like mentally

And physically okay so for one one short day the Clippers got to first in the Western Conference that was in early February since then they’re 10 and 12 and their defense has been absolutely awful Brian wior chop it or drop it oh we’re chopping it and we’re chopping a

Different spot in those standings when we look at the play in because guess who is in heavy reverse and we now have to look at the Clippers when it comes to the play in because guess what folks not only they in fifth they are two games out of seven seventh that’s playin Zone

And they’re about to go on an Eastern Conference road trip boy they’re fifth right now the Pelicans have their number so if they’re not incredibly careful Brian they could be looking at a first-r exit if they don’t figure this out quickly oh being a playin team in this season with where

They’ve been with with what they’ve got on the line would be a disaster ending up playing the Lakers in a one-game playoff and the playin to get into the playoffs and their last game potentially in crypto would be a quadruple disaster want to try to what I look [Applause] like NBA is

NBA Today’s Malika Andrews, Kendrick Perkins and Brian Windhorst play “Chop It or Drop It” as Perk reacts to comments after Donte DiVincenzo hit 11 3-poiners and scored a career-high 40 points in the Knicks’ win over the Pistons and Windy discusses the LA Clippers’ continued struggles.

  1. I loved Josh's reply, "If he aint wanna be apart of that story, if should of told his team to play defense better". Monty just mad the Knicks keep cooking the Pistons 😂😂😂😂😂

  2. Perk is always all over the place…..Popovich team is garbage also…but i bet you nobody will say anything about Popovich…and they haven't done anything since Tim Duncan

  3. Exactly Pwrk, there's no mercy rule in sports. The purpose is to score more than the opponents, you don't want them to score? Play better defense

  4. Monty Williams only has a good record when Chris Paul is his point guard. Look at New Orleans and Phoenix with and without CP during his tenure and look at the nightmare that is my hometown Pistons. He doesn't make adjustments; he doesn't connect with young players, and his rotations are trash.

  5. Lol… Detroit has a way better roster than the current G League Raps…
You got 1 first overall pick on roster…
    Quit crying😂😂😂

  6. We were blowing out a team by 20pts in the first half and my teammate went up for a crazy dunk and missed. Coach made the entire team run 3 suicides at half time
😂😂😂. Coach always said you gotta keep the pressure on your opponent till the whistle blows. Monty gotta coach better instead of complaining about Knicks tryna get their guy a record.

  7. Monty should be happy because one of Knicks worst defender Evan Fournier was literally playing the best defense of his life, and by far better than the rest of the Piston players last night. 😂

  8. They got lazy after they saw the 26 and 5 record.

It got to their heads and they have been goofing around too much.

They will get it straight for the playoffs, seeding won't matter for the Clippers.

If Kawhi gets hot, as he is proven before this season, can be viewed as the best two way players in the game. George playing at an ALL NBA Level could help too.

Let's see what happens in May…

  9. So Monty mad at the Knicks taking the most difficult shots (Three pointers) they can take in a blow out. LOL! Monty funny style for real.
