  3. dosnetlive

Doogie and Glen vs Dane Kyle Arod and Marc

    civil war

  4. TheNotoriousJN

Oh fucking hell lol. Surprised Dane got that. Good for him. But damn we be getting messier

  5. JustSeriousEnough

“We want to protect the [Minnesota] fanbase from Glen Taylor.”
    -ARod

    GODDAMN

  6. ibeauch009

Was really surprised to see this in my feed but I’m so happy for Dane. I had the opportunity to have coffee with him once and he’s a super down to earth guy, hope his successful career continues!

Lol this is amazing. Wachtell is going to take Glen to the cleaners. For folks who don’t know they are the gold standard for M&A law. Also, it’s very hard to get out of these contracts.

Look you don’t get to be a billionaire not pushing contractual lines. Glen got actually wiped in this deal (low value and financed a huge chunk of it). He wants more $$$. Hell of a way to go out…

Fwiw Glen is way out over his skies. Guy runs a printing company…the entire play there is to buy smaller mom and pop and pull sh*t like this in M&A deals. He is used to getting away w it but he is now up against someone w resources and skill…good riddance.

This interview with Arod and Lore seemed like such an honest and open discussion. Great work by Dane and Kyle. That whole, the multi-year payment plan was Glen’s idea seems new to me. Really interesting stuff. Really back in Lore/Arod’s corner.

  9. Knightbear49

Marc Lore said that Taylor sent an internal memo out that they’re not allowed in the Owners suite, not allowed in certain areas of the arena and informed employees to not speak to Lore and A-Rod.

  10. ProfitNo1844

“He lived up to the Glen Taylor reputation [of being a traitor]” -ARod. These dudes HATE each other lmaoo

  11. FiveByFive555555

I mean I don’t trust any billionaires. You gotta do some dark things to get that much money. But there are degrees, and this interview makes Taylor look even worse than I already thought him to be. And that seems hard.

*Reposting my notes from the other thread*

    Making notes as I’m listening.

Marc makes it clear, in no uncertain terms, that Glen has no legal grounds to stand on. “Ironclad” contract

Even crazier is that Alex says Glen spoke with them after they submitted the paperwork saying “Okay.”

Alex wants to “protect the fans from Glen Taylor.”

Marc has never been sued or ever sued anyone. Will enforce the deal by “any means necessary.” Marc directly stating that Glen is backing out cause the team is worth more.

Alex and Marc “would never move the team from Minnesota, we love Minnesota” and Alex bought a home here. Alex says that multiple people have told him over the last two years that Glen is a traitor and to make sure your lawyers are good. “Glen lives up to the reputation”

Marc is never been in a better financial situation. There is little debt on the team and should be even this year and profitable next year. Marc personally has hundreds of millions in the bank liquid.

Glen told Marc and Alex to back off the team and let Glen have his last moment. Alex and Marc have honored that.

90% of the first two payments were paid by Marc and Alex themselves. They had a smaller partner join that they are friends with for those payments.

Carlyle Group backed out on their own. Alex says that they had spoken to Dyal Capital for two years before they were added as partners in the last submission to the league last week.

Glen has shut them out, banned them from the owner’s suite and from talking to employees. Internal memo sent out to all employees not to talk to Marc and Alex. (this is probably why they are speaking public now)

Marc really making it explicit that they paid for the control premium, not as Limited Partners. They paid to be the owners outright, not minority shares which might be discounted.

Never any bad blood before this latest dispute. Glen did not want to do the Rudy deal. Glen told them regarding the GM search aid “why are you wasting your time, people like Tim Connelly do not come here”

Marc and Alex are best friends, all the reporting in the NY Post has a motive behind it. They know who is leaking most likely but won’t say.

Marc and Lore haven’t said anything or fought the press on these rumors because they were limited by their former status as limited partners. Now they believe they have control so they can correct the record. Plus they didn’t want to step on Glen’s role owning the team for thirty years (they give him credit for keeping the team in Minnesota).

Marc and Alex could have paid the sticker price from the start. But Glen wanted to maintain control for two years so they structured the deal in tranches, “wouldn’t make sense to buy the team outright and then let him still have control”

ARod says that Target Center is the best atmosphere he’s seen “and I played at Yankee Stadium”

Marc says don’t worry about the distractions it won’t affect the basketball. “Just know we are going to be the control owners, and we’re not going to stop until we are the control owners”

This was crazy, tremendous Friday afternoon drop. My highlights:

    1) Payment plan was GT’s idea as he didn’t want to exit immediately – this supposedly turned some other buyers away, but Marc and Alex were cool with it.

    2) **ARod said Glen advised against the Gobert trade and said they’d be wasting their time trying to hire Tim Connelly, that he wouldn’t come work for the Timberwolves.**

    3) An internal memo was sent out advising executives, coaches and players not to interact with Marc and Alex, also has taken away their access to certain parts of the facilities.

    4) Glen told Marc and Alex to take a back seat 9 months ago, said they were doing too much considering they were still limited partners.

Obviously, all of this was coming from their perspective, but if it’s all true and real, get this crustacean tf outta here already. If it’s fabrication, these two will be the biggest clowns to try and own a team since John Spano and the Islanders back in the 90’s. They said the contract is clear as day and ironclad, we’ll see who comes out on top in due time.

  14. shaiabich

Fuck Glen Taylor, hope they sue his ass and win.

  15. Fuck Doogie. Dane and Kyle are the real reporters

  16. buchanbasanee

They seem pretty confident that they’ve done nothing wrong. If that’s true, I hope the NBA gets involved and helps move this along. And I appreciate Theige for bottom-lining it and asking Lore to clarify that they have the funds to complete the sale and run the business going forward, because that’s my one remaining worry with the group. Don’t know who the limited partners are that Lore referenced, but I’ll take his word for it.

  17. JamesDHoward22

Yeah, I think it’s safe to say I’ve probably picked my side on this one.

Glen Taylor can suck a rock. Hoping the crowd actively boos him tonight for putting a 48 hour damper on such a good season.

  18. mcmullet

I don’t like Taylor either. And fuck Doogie. The only thing “off” I noticed on this podcast was that Lore said paid two tranches but would not say third.

  19. nhthelegend

This is a lot more believable than whatever yarn Geriatric Glen is spinning rn. I hope ARod & Lore are as truthful as they are coming across here and we can rid the team of the old snake.
