[Underdog] The NBA is expected to investigate how Sixers handled injury reporting on Embiid, per @JaredSGreenberg . He was listed out all day until 5:49pm ET, then upgraded to available just over an hour later. Sixers were fined $75K in February for an injury report violation with Embiid.

Our organization is dumb as hell lmao. Just list him as Questionable or Doubtful for the rest of the year and avoid this.
Why do they keep doing this? All it does is put unnecessary attention on Embiid. Just list him as questionable for every game and call it a day. Wish the medical team and management could get it together
The only reason this is a thing is because sportsbooks have the NBA in a chokehold. The weird injury report designations impact betting

Why doesn’t the NBA simply make a rule that if a player is designated as ‘Out’ 12 hours before gametime, then they are not allowed to play? That will force teams to stop messing around with injury reports.

As someone who plays a lot of fantasy basketball, every team does this. I don’t know how we are the only ones getting fined for it, it’s ridiculous.

Can anyone explain to me why this matters? As far as I can tell the only official rule the nba has is the lineup has to be set 30 mins before the game. Seems he was upgraded almost 2 hours before the game so I can’t understand how this is an issue

That should be their justification – sports better has become so perverse. And the thing is, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT IT BECAUSE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY TO THEM. All those ads, that constant wall of ads for sports betting, it aint cheap, but you know what, they make that back many many times over, ON YOU LOSING YOUR MONEY TO THEM. Over a long enough time line, you will lose.
