Hot take. If the bench doesn’t play well, we have no chance. Same for any team we play with a winning record.
Weird game as in it’s not a “must win” in terms of play-in chances if we lose it, I think this is our most probable loss out of the next 4 games, but also would alleviate a lot of play-in stress if we win it.
I use playoffstatus.com (good for tracking playoff odds stuff game-by-game btw), and we add about 4% from 13% to 17% chance with a loss independent of any other teams winning or losing. We go from 13% to 6% with a win. For instance, a Blazers loss would’ve moved us from like 9% to 28% or something wild at the time, so winning that game was very important.
While a loss isn’t the end of the world here, it does make the pressure to at least go 2-1 in the next 3 games, if not 3-0, to make things feel truly safe without having to depend on other teams losing specific games.
