It’s also astonishing that after all of this and the Raptors might not have a first-round pick this year.

If they convey the pick there’s an argument it’s a top 2 worst Raptors season ever.

dalano will save us….blazers are gonna win 3 more games due to his greatness.

Toronto man saving toronto as usual.

It was worth the one play-in game, though. Think of the experience the guys got by losing to a 9-year-old!

  4. whatareyouairing

Pacers pick is a 1st rounder, say lottery pick.

Bobby Webster must answer for his war crimes

  6. mMounirM

if Basketball Gods exist, and Silver is merciful, we will keep our pick

I remember the year that Masai took over that he said that having a losing season and not having a pick was just wrong. Fast forward to 10 years later and we might be in that same predicament.

We traded Pascal for Bruce Brown (and picks) … That trade should have a national inquiry

  9. If that happens there has to be a fall guy within the front office. Even if people don’t want it to be either of the two main guys who should actually be in the hot seat

  10. just go back to watching your OKC Thunder, Grange

  11. Ylissian

I mean Masai didn’t break Scottie’s hand lol. If we don’t keep the pick I can at least respect the attempt at last minute tanking.

This team is going to be pretty bad for the next 3 seasons. Lots of lottery picks in the future even if we don’t have one this year

  13. Seanbig888

That’s wrong we will have a pick Just not our own

  14. Karl_with_a_C

Grange can’t even type coherent English anymore

  15. elarmthecity

No way the nba will allow the spurs to lose a pick to the raptors..what rock do u guys live under..also we deserve to lose our pick..everyone wants to praise management..they absolutely fumbled the bag

  16. GorzekTheGreat

It’s only astonishing if you’ve never been a fan of any Toronto team (baseball, hockey, basketball).

  17. ImmaFunGuy

When the FO let their second best player walk for nothing (Dennis = nothing), you knew the FO didn’t know what they were doing

  18. SubstantialBody6611

It’s not amazing, it’s poor front office management.

  19. aedge403

Aren’t we in 6th last? Do we lose our pick if we fall to 7th in the lottery?

  20. RiverDesperate1186

Lmao we traded this shit for Jakob poetel

  21. grenzowip445

We have the Pacers FRP. Is Grange lamenting the 2% chance the Pacers lose the play-in, then win the lottery into the top 3 while simultaneously our pick falls outside the top 6 (although Pacers winning the lottery would be enough to do that)

This is doomerism for the sake of doomerism. When Scottie is back next year we have enough to be competitive for the play-in if things go well

If there was a year to convey the pick, it would be this year. All of the supposed top picks all have flaws to keep them from being “surefire”

  23. Eastern-Technology84

Don’t worry guys, I already manifested It. I have been told our pick will be top 4

  24. Am I wrong to think Masai and Bobby’s time is almost up?

  25. Green-Umpire2297

wait he is still astonished? the trade is very very old news.

I imagine Grange’s in-depth reporting on all of this will be coming any day

I understand the NBA draft is a highlight for fanbases whom have had nothing but lowlights for a full season. But I really hope we don’t keep the pick this year.

This draft is considered to be the worst since the Anthony Bennett draft. Which means a lot of busts and surprises. The fact that it’s a very very weak draft means more fringe late 1st/2nds will declare that may turn out great if developed properly.

    The Bennett draft (’14?) had McCollum(10), Adams (12), Olynk(13), Giannis (14), Schroeder (17), Gobert (27).

Unless we were to land in the top two and could get either Sarr or Risacher, we would be better off gambling on later picks. With Scottie, IQ, Barrett and Dick, we need to focus on our lackluster front court. Being able to grab Bobi Klintman with the Pacers pick would be outstanding, 6’10 PF/SF perimeter threat who had a great year against the more physical NBL playing against grown men.

We aren’t going to be great next year. I would rather go next year knowing we have our pick and do terrible than to do terrible with a much better draft class without our pick.

My dream pick for next year is Khaman Maluach, who just committed to Duke. Currently ranked #3, has only played basketball for 5 years. 7’1, 250 pounds with a standing reach of 9’8… In comparison, Wembys standing reach is 9’7.

I believe if the Raptors have a top ten pick next year, that they will go all out in trying to trade up for him, considering the Raptors lack of a frontcourt, Maluach being a talented shooter and defender, has plenty of untapped potential and is a graduate of the NBA Africa Academy program.
