Bickley Blast: Is Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker’s playoff encore coming soon?
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has been posting impressive numbers in the last two games which leads Dan Bickley to wonder if Book’s playoff encore to the 2020 NBA bubble run is drawing near.

Hopefully Beal playing PG full time will help the Suns unlock the potential of this team

If Booker can play how he played last playoffs, Beal play more aggressive, Durant cut down on turnovers, and our role players hit open 3s, We can easily win
Devin Booker almost killed himself last playoffs. It’s why he sometimes just seems emotionally broken. He played his ass off, and almost single-handedly took down Denver. The only team and player who had a chance to do so.
I’m not a homer. I think the Suns suck this season. And they’re boring. They have no chance against the top teams in the west, but Devin Booker was a god last playoffs outside of a game or two where he was just exhausted. He couldn’t miss a shot, and he was never more dedicated on the defensive end.
This should be your take: can Devin Booker once again be the only guy who plays defense in the playoffs, and somehow survive a series or two despite pathetic coaching??
The answer is no, because the Suns don’t consistently play defense. Ex: We applaud KD for his efforts, but really, he only locks down 5-6 plays a game. Nurk & Eubanks 7-10 possessions a game.
The rest make an honest effort once or twice in an entire game.
It’s just boring. It’s no different than my buddies playing pick up at the gym, and we only start to play defense on the last play or two so we can hold court.
I don’t think the Suns scare anybody. I could easily see them losing both play-in games.
In these playoffs the Suns are about to prove 3 things:
1) Point guards still matter.
2) Defense is a religion, not a culture (And the Suns players, as a whole, are agnostic)
3) Team sports require consistency and discipline: Suns lack both, even when healthy.
Aside from that, the Suns players are so lackadaisical with the ball. You have to protect the ball at every moment, especially when most teams are more athletic than us.
