  1. How will they ever financially recover from this

  2. Let’s fine a franchise for allowing one of the leagues superstars to play after months of rehabilitation

  3. HoagieTwoFace

    *3 months from now*

The NBA is fining the sixers 1 billion dollars for winning the nba championship

  4. LegitimateMoney00

I feel like said player shouldn’t even be allowed to play or should be suspended from playing the next game (not the players fault obviously but this 100k fine is a joke).

If 100k fine is all the team gets I don’t understand why every team doesn’t do exactly this. It completely throws off the opposing team’s game plan going into a game.

  5. sercialinho

Will they finally learn to list him as “Questionable” every single time (when not in active rehab)? Like Lakers do for LeBron and AD.

  6. Vegetable_Comment_82

This fine is actually because of Joel’s hairstyle.

  7. Mink_2112

76ers fined 100k USD for ducking Shai and JDub is pretty hilarious

    > 76ers failed to accurately disclose the game availability status of Joel Embiid prior to their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 2. Embiid was listed as “Out” in Philadelphia’s initial injury report and subsequently played in the game. The fine takes into account the 76ers’ prior history of fines for violating injury reporting rules.

Embiid back and Josh Harris losing money what a fucking W.

  10. Living_LaVida_Koloko

Sixers have to be the weirdest team in the league.

They are 1 injury from going from being called title contenders to a fringe lottery team and that injury is called Joel Embiid’s knees

  11. transizzle

We can’t have an inaccurate gambling line with a complicit NBA.

  12. BabaBrody

You see how much we pay Tobias Harris night to night? We’ve torched way more money for way less fun. This was as close as I think the NBA would allow for a “surprise” return.

  13. BrotherSeamus

Solution: Teams shouldn’t have to report injuries at all

  14. HisExcellency20

It’s funny because Embiid has been listed as out the previous game and then played several times in the past, including during last year’s playoffs.

This makes way more sense than fining a player who was not listed on the previous day’s report but then missed a game due to injury.

But above all, I couldn’t give one single solitary fuck how much money you fine Josh Harris.

  15. Just doesn’t make sense to me why he’s not questionable every game unless he’s out with an injury like this season. Thankfully the team has to pay that fine for being inept at their job

  16. ApoliticalAth3ist

I wonder if the Knicks will be fined for knowing Randle would be out for the season weeks ago

  17. SquirtDoctor23

This just seems dumb. I thought the whole point of the injury reporting rules was so players don’t sit out unnecessary games. Not to punish them for actually playing.

  18. XoXHamimXoX

It’s wild how so much of this pretty much goes back to the financial loss of betting companies, and why they’re becoming so hard on disclosures such as this.

  19. questionmycomment

Why don’t they fined these teams to the point it hurts them then they know not to do it again or hold whoever is accountable for it after

  20. blacksoxing

Shit’s garbage as coaches spend countless hours game planning around the injury report as you HAVE to be able to devise realistic matchups. For the 76ers to just go “LOL NAH JUST KIDDING” is lame.

If dude is questionable, list him as questionable. Shit would be like if a user stated they were out of office but still trying to ping you for a status request. You in or out, as I was trying to focus on some other shit….

  21. AgadorFartacus

At a certain point you have to realize these fines aren’t working to correct the Sixers’ extensive history of cheating and you should just dissolve the franchise instead.

  22. Doobie_Howitzer

I guess the 2 full months of saying “Embiid will be back the first week of April” wasn’t enough of a heads up for Vegas.

We should have been laying out the timetable for his recovery before he ever hurt his knee, that’s honestly just poor planning on our part. /s

  23. Weird-Couple-3503

Sixers wasting some people’s 3-year salary to play 4-D chess. Might be worth it if it helps get them the 7 seed and avoid Boston in the first round

(they were probably just drunk though)

  24. 9jajajaj9

Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be part of an organization that he’s a part of

  25. freshkicks

Pales in comparison to all the pain the betting companies suffered because all the lines changed. Disgusting act

  26. Piak1204

What’s the purpose of this rule anyway? What’s the benefit of Teams having to report injuries? Why can’t you just show up to the game and then you’ll see who’s available?

  27. Ok, so does anybody know the actual rule? I assumed Philly got in trouble because he went from out directly to being ruled in and playing, but that’s not what happened. He was out for most of the day, was upgraded to questionable about 2 hours before the game, then was upgraded to playing about 1.5 hours before tipoff.

I would think that’s fine because he was upgraded to questionable first, but apparently not.
