Just as I was giving the team credit for getting their fight back, they get smacked by one of the worst teams in the league in a critical game.
This one definitely stings. If we end up losing home court advantage in the 1st round because we lost to the Hornets, that’s gonna suck lol.
I know we played like shit, but 60/50/100% is ridiculous. The comments are gonna be obvious, and the Paolo hate is comical.
We’re too offensively challenged to win without a good defense, and I don’t know how we fix it—hopefully, internal development and some off-season additions.
Paolo is inefficient, Franz can’t hit 3’s, and we don’t have a playmaker. Paolo’s efficiency is a significant concern, and so is Franz’s three-ball.
man brandon miller is gonna be incredible.
Young and inexperienced. They need losses like these apparently. They keep not taking it serious from the get go.
I’m gonna put it like this, while it is obviously a terrible game from 3 and defensively from our guys basically all around, I suppose there are just some days where the opponents are gonna hit shots and you genuinely can’t do anything against it. First quarter it genuinely felt like our guys did a lot of actual work on defense but the Hornets (Miller, mostly) just hit every single shot anyway regardless of the defense being played. After that, well, once they got dug into a 15+ point hole, was really hard to crawl out of it.
Don’t really know what else to say. I guess shoutout to the Hornets crew, they’re kinda homer but at the same time really as entertaining as advertised.
Mose got outcoached by a dude that’s already checked out and planning on his next venture.
1) we’re a play in team at best.
2) paolo is not steph Curry why is he taking 8 threes, in his last 7 games 9/45 from 3.
Bad game, move on to the next one.

Message for the Mods:
-Can we start banning other fans in our reddit?
-Also, can we ban the alleged Magic fans that literally just spam toxicity + hate for our team? I’m getting close to just dropping off this sub when playoffs comes around, which is sad because it used to be a fun place to be during our rebuild
*Edit: There are literally both of the above in this post-game thread now
Again the teams offense is too ass to give an opposing team a 20 point lead at any point in the game. I know teams drop games to lesser opponents all the time in the NBA but its just frustrating to watch this terrible offense.
Paolo can’t even be efficient vs a team with no paint protector, I really don’t know what bro is doing. It is crazy that you are shooting under 40% from the field at 6’10. Stop taking threes, you are being left open because you can’t hit shit. Jesus christ man Mose needs to reel the kid in.
Bad loss but we move on. Young teams often play up or down to their opponents. We’re gonna be ok.
To the doomsdayers wanting to fire our FO, get your shit together. Championships don’t happen overnight. We’re on the right path.
Nothing to do for now but cheer for the Bulls and Rockets.
Look at that quarter to quarter box score. Every team has probably had a game exactly like that this year. It happens, move on and get the next one
They deserved that and been deserving it. Starters feel like they fall down 15+ points every single game for about a month now. Maybe they will finally start playing a full 48.
It’s the NBA there’s games like this where the other team just has a night out. We had one against Denver when we had a ridiculous amount of injuries.
Wasn’t our best game but far from our worse, let’s not make this more than it is.
Bucks might lose to Toronto. Blew a huge opportunity.
We have a higher chance of avoiding the Heat and Philly with this loss so I see the brightside. if we get 2nd we play Heat or Philly
Magic fought back, but you’re not winning when the other team hits 50% of their threes and 100% of the free throws. Like, 115 can win games, but the Hornets just refused to miss all night. Props to them. It stings (pun intended), but nights like this happen. I can’t name too many nights like this against us this season though.
This team is not going to run how we as fans think it should run until a proper Vet PG is put on this team point blank period and that wont happen till after the season, so we as a collective should come to grip’s with how this team is constructed and be prepared for nights like this for the rest of the season.
Paolo is 21 and Franz is 22 and they are asking both of them to carry a terribly constructed team into the playoff’s and be efficient at the same time is not going to go well from game to game. Its is Frustrating but I have come to realize the F.O did not care about this season as much as the fans did, this was still and evaluation year for the F.O
Pathetic effort but I liked Paolo getting to the line… efficiency and touch will come but if he keeps attacking like he is rn he will average 10fts I guarantee it. And that’s what’ll help make him a mvp caliber
Honestly, I put this on the coaching staff (mostly). Yet another game not using the challenge, going away from things that are working offensively (Franz running the offense), and letting Miller go off way too much in the first quarter.
Paolo also needs to be better. His finishing around the rim is really problematic against physical teams. The dude is built like a tank but seems to forget it. He needs to stop getting cute and go up strong each and every time.
Consolation prize is seeing Chet without all stars around him 😬
Where are the other three wins coming from? 48 is what we will likely need for a top-five seed.
The following two seem like must-wins, and we need a game from Milwaukee or Philly now.
Yall motherfuckers are some salty ass fake fans with the Paolo hate, he’s the best thing to happen to this team since the Dwight Howard era and yall wanna shit talk him as if he’s still not learning how to play in the NBA. I hope I don’t see any of you giving him his flowers when he delivers you ungrateful bastards a championship
Why did Issac not play?
4D chess move is trading this loss for two Bucks wins provided the Bucks win a game for once
Really embarrassing effort by the Magic to start the game tonight. The starters coming out flat really doomed the team, especially with how hot the Hornets got from three. Lots of thoughts, sorry in advance:
* Defensive effort was pretty non-existent for most of the game. Gotta give some credit to those Grant Williams ~~moving~~ screens, but outside of Franz and Markelle, the whole team pretty much played lazily on defense.
* Jalen was a complete non-factor in this game. That really hurt the team, especially with JI being a late scratch.
* Franz is a very good one-on-one and team defender, but he really struggles in chasing guys around screens. We’ve seen this all season, even as recent as the Kings game when Murray routinely got away from Franz using multiple screens. Harris/Suggs are much better navigating those screens, but taller wings just shoot over them. Maybe this is a hole that AB can fix in the future.
* 1-12 from three from Paolo and Franz. We all know the Magic need more shooting, but the team needs Paolo and Franz to shoot better from three, just as much as the team needs more shooters. This is really imperative in making a jump from a playoff team to a contender because that will allow them to run more 2-man action as the two stars.
* I really like when Paolo gets to operate with a live dribble from a triple threat vs having him initiate the offense. This worked when the Magic made a run in the third, and then they went away from it. This same exact thing happened against the Clippers last week. Make it make sense.
* This was probably the best we’ve seen from Markelle all season. Played disruptive defense and really had the ball popping on offense. Hope he can build on this because the Magic really need him to be the floor general like he was last year.
* This was really bad and I’m siding with the doomers for this game. There were some possessions where Hornets guys were just straight up beating our guys off the dribble (Cole got cooked pretty much every time tonight). It’s much easier to stomach poor shooting than bad effort. Hope this loss doesn’t bite us later. Every game matters with playoff implications.
Might be the toughest L of the season, but a learning experience nonetheless. Sorry for the wall of text!
We beat them 8/10 times. Tonight wasn’t the night.
Anything goes. Doesn’t matter if we’re the best team, as a Magic fan, I’d know. Playoff matters though, their preparation for that is far more important. Nothing shameful about being beaten by another NBA team in season, but they do need to do better and secure a nice plyoff spot.
NY lost. Still the 4 seed with five games left. We’ll be alright.
Way we’ve been playing this was due, glad it happened like this, they should feel embarrassed.
Either way, upper management is looking at the issues that are GLARING us in our face and I look forward to them adjusting, damn a chemistry.
WIN.
Unreal that these Bucks games that could’ve meant nothing for them suddenly may have to mean them playing for their lives cause they can’t beat the fucking Wizards/Grizz/Raptors.
I know we just lost but we’ve handled these teams for the most part.
Heat and Pacers play each other next. Guaranteed cushion
my take away is that the starters came into this game thinking it was an automatic win, Miller couldn’t miss, in fact their whole team shot the lights out. We got the game back within 4 early in the last but my feeling was they were gassed from having to play catch up all night
On the other hand, the Bucks just lost to the Raps (15 game losing streak) at home and the Knicks lost to the Bulls. Orlando has done a really good job of taking caring of business against bad teams but tonight wasn’t the night, however in the scheme of the standings it’s not the end of the world
Mosely is just not preparing our guys seriously — should have waited till the off season before extending anyone! What a fake move that was

Good news is, it seems apparently nobody in the 2-5 range wants to fuckin win, so I guess not all is lost.
