This is a really good, legit analogy on why OKC/Utah are handling their rebuild quite well.

Some debate could be had but the general idea is accurate. Having a good group of guys for the star to join is huge

Utahs rebuild is not the same as okc’s they have top talent and top draft picks on their roster

Little bit different scenario for the Jazz since they don’t have their star. But that may be better than having the rush to build around a young guy now.

All three picks from last draft are developing, too early to say any will be starters on a playoff team. Once the Jazz get their #1 star, I think the graphic applies.

Imagine an alternate timeline where David Robinson never got injured early, causing the Spurs to say fuck it and tank for Tim Duncan

  4. And how many legit superstars are available in each draft? Our rebuild, if we’re trying to build and then draft a superstar, is going to rely waaay too much on luck.

Do the Spurs not own their next draft pick? Looks like they’ll be pretty situated there too. and San Antonio is still a desirable spot given their history and Pap (for now).

The Mavs were so bad with their assets/drafting almost as soon as they got Luka.

OKC got to where they are by staying competitive during the SGA/CP3 season to build cohesion then tanking for 2 seasons
