This is throwing me for a loop. This account only has 10 followers (!) but called the Dejounte trade days before anyone else got it, even Woj. In fact, he’s broken other NBA news faster than Woj and others. Reported on multiple Spurs moves. Might be something worth keeping an eye on.

I’m not sure that could even work, given that neither team would know how the rest of the season would go, or where draft picks would end up, and it probably contravenes a whole heap of NBA rules.
This first, (in a chappy draft) plus their picks back is highway robbery.Â
Basically DJ + first for Trae
I’m ready to get hurt again
If that is true, it’s highly illegal in the cba. We’d lose some future picks over it. I’d take it with a grain of salt.
The tweet history is pretty wild LOL his last tweet is literally two years ago on the DJ trade.
LOL oh shit he just tweeted that Sochan is being shopped after Sandro doing so well? This has to be a troll

But how is the account’s record on missed trades? Did they call other trades that did not happen? Their tweet history is very sparse, do they delete wrong calls?
Still not a fan of trading for Trae. I know people think we can commit highway robbery but I think we 100% lose at least one of Devin or Jeremy in a trade for Trae. Trae and Wemby would be a good pairing but I think we should develop 1-2 more seasons given how stacked the West is.
With the exception of the Lakers, most championship teams in the last decade are built primarily with their own picks. We shouldn’t cash in on our picks too early, because our own picks most likely won’t be as good after trading for Trae. I don’t wanna see us turn into teams like the Suns trading all their drafted players except for Booker.
Y’all are seriously underrating Trae Young here. Trae is an all-star/superstar level talent that would garner at least three picks on the open market and if this is true, the Spurs would be giving up 1 of their own picks and giving back the Hawks 2 picks and the pick swap, so only losing 1 pick essentially.
Someone earlier said that this would pretty much be the same as giving up DJ + a pick for Trae and said that was a bad deal when in reality it’s not. That’s a fair asking price imo but the difference here is that the Spurs would only be giving up one pick on a draft where the talent isn’t clear.
Spurs could draft Rob who could turn into Maxey in 2/3 years or Topic or Reed or they could use that pick and get Trae instead, who has already shown the ability to carry a team to a Confernce finals.
I’m 100% behind a slow and proper build but you don’t turn down a potential sure thing because your homer glasses are to tinted.
And for people saying this would be against the CBA, it wouldn’t since they didn’t officially agree on a deal, GMs and front offices talk to each other all the time about deals and this scenario was probably talk about if the Raptors pick land at the 7th spot.
Doesn’t feel like spurs pick this year would be necessary to get the job done
Probably fake AF but would love it if we keep raps pick so we could use it on a ready now player like Knecht
I like Dilly already 😅
So we give back their picks and give our own top pick from this draft? Nah fam this aint it.
