[Charania] Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo has avoided damage to his left Achilles tendon – a best-case outcome – and his return to play is based on treatment and rehab response for strained calf, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium .

Has now avoided two major injuries. First the hypertension and now this
Edit: hyperextension lol
Good thing they had a real doctor as their coach
rest up till the playoffs my nigerian cutie. no need to rush
I got my joy back
Giannis is about to go full 2021 Finals return from injury terminator mode (please)
Just saw the Woj tweet notification and read “After an MRI, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s left Achilles tendon” and just about shit my pants, glad it’s not too bad.
Good shit
Google says 2-8 weeks recovery time for a calf-strain, guess we don’t know the severity yet.
It’s Giannis though, so I would not be shocked if he’s ready for the playoffs
I mean just a calf strain can still sideline you for a while. Joe burrow sat out 4 weeks before the season and didn’t look right. probably should have sat out 6-8 before returning.
Last time Giannis avoided a season ending surgery they won the title 👀

That’s really good to hear because it looked awful.
Regardless he’s going to be out at bare minimum the last 3 games of the regular season. Hopefully Dame alone can beat the magic twice
Should just hold him out for the playoffs and play him until they make the conference finals no need to risk it.
Great seeing Giannis dodge another bullet there. Dude’s tougher than a two-dollar steak, gotta respect that. Rest and recover, my man
So I’m guessing giannis isn’t gonna play the 1st rd? Calf injuries are tricky and very prone to re injury if they don’t heal fully
And a calf strain, if not given time, can become a more serious injury, right? Like I know most injuries that can happen but it’s very important to let a calf injury fully heel? Didn’t KD have a calf injury before his Achilles injury?
Know Shams mentioned 1-2 weeks in the next tweet but this could take some time. Last thing the Bucks need is him coming back before giving it full time to recover and then something else happening.
Oh thank god
Its a calf strain. No need to phrase a tweet like this.
He will not play in the first round then I’m seriously not taking no chances of him rushing back
Bucks are doomed right?
Mythical match-up;
Doc Rivers coaching vs. Giannis avoiding a major injury
A collective sigh of relief by a collective of basketball fans has been made. Now a decision needs to be made. Giannis avoided a major injury but his body is strained and is more susceptible of not being so lucky next time.
I would shut him down if i were the bucks, no need to put this talent behemoth at risk for a career-defining injury. This year wasn’t gonna be it and it gives Dame and Giannis more time to gel
Didn’t KD suffered a similar injury?
I remember it was his calf that was injured but he played in it then his Achilles popped.
I’m so relieved.
Scariest since KD.
Should shut it down for the year. It really isn’t worth it.
I’m glad he’s okay. Now I’m just pissed Doc has an excuse for the early exit.
I’d still be concerned about a potential Achilles injury. Giannis had been dealing with Achilles tendinitis before this injury. I hope he doesn’t try to come back too soon and risk getting a more significant injury. KD had a calf injury when he came back in the playoffs for the Warriors and ended up injuring his Achilles.
Calf strains can lead to ruptured Achilles.
Better be careful.
Isn’t this the same kind of calf injury KD had before he came back in the Raptors series and tore his Achilles? I hope Giannis doesn’t do the same and takes his time rehabbing.
Needs to be careful, shit always ends up with a torn Achilles.
