Best case scenario for Draft Night ?

Can we t be better than us getting 1st pick and Toronto getting 7th pick? Got it on 3rd try with tankathon

  1. 1st pick, and then trade down to the 4th pick + 7th pick via Raptors

Pretty much any scenario is best case. The top of the draft is so even. No one stands out from each other. This is a year where we should consider shopping our pick, even if it’s first overall.

It’s this, or there’s a case we don’t want the raps pick this year

    I prefer the pick conveys

I don’t believe in this draft class. Maybe not picking too high could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. As opposed to getting number 1 and choosing between one of 5 or 6 deeply flawed candidates with a relatively high chance of being a bust.

This is going to be maybe a controversial thing to say, but as someone who’s been obsessed with this draft class, and at this point in April still finds himself absolutely perplexed, nervous, and downright confounded by this group of prospects… If we got the number one pic I would seriously look into trading back A few spots if it means getting an additional pic, or a future pic in another draft.

Let’s say we get the first pic and Portland gets the fifth pick. I’d consider trading number one for 5 and 13.

This frankly, just really isn’t the draft to find yourself a superstar. Talking yourself into any of these guys. Becoming a top to/3 player on a championship team involves a whole lot of theoreticals, hypotheticals, and best case scenarios coming to fruition.

What this is though, is a draft chock full of players who look to have a really good floor and ceiling as rotation/roll players. This could be an excellent draft to find cheap cost controlled contributors to build the roster out with and then we can see what happens in next year’s, much top heavier draft, or use those future draft picks to swing for a star.

If the Spurs aren’t a believer in topic (Who to be clear I would still take number one in this draft and do think has the ability to be an offensive star) I’d much rather punt on having the ability to pick absolutely whoever I want with number one and instead give myself two shots from a pool of rob/Sheppard/matas/Castle/clingan/walter with the 5th and 7th pics and then also get a shot from the group including guys like knetch/Missi/Collier/salune/Dunn/McCain/Holmes/Smith etc.

Normally drafting for fit is a sin, but this year I think it might be the way to go and securing an extra late lottery Pic would give us a decent chance to kind of curate from a large group of solid talent players who theoretically fit around Victor, and who will be cost controlled on solid contracts for a few years.

But again, this only is something you do if you’re not a believer and they’re being a likely star at the top of this draft And also, if you’re not planning on bringing in veteran role players in the off-season.

Literally yes. If so I would trade our pick for a star if it’s 2-4 and use Raps pick for a win now role player like Knecht

I don’t want the top pick. Unless we can trade it out.

Am I the only one that would prefer we get their pick next year? Or are we thinking they will super tank for Cooper Flagg? Also, does anyone know if we lose that pick eventually if it keeps rolling? To second rounders or something stupid like that?

A part of me wants the #2 pick instead of pick #1. The only #1 picks we have are generational big men and it should stay that way.

I am hoping the Raptors Pick does not convey. I just don’t think anyone available at 7 is going to be someone to get excited about, and I’d rather just reroll for next year, take the risk it goes down, but bet on next year’s class being so much better that it doesn’t matter.

Best case is winning #1 and the Toronto pick being #7 next year.

Then a team thinks Sarr is worth trading up for.

I think a #7 pick is worth significantly more next year, and I don’t think the Spurs will make a major move to become a playoff team this summer. I think we are marginally better next year, and then we start making our moves to fill in the roster after we know who we are getting in the 2025 draft.

  12. My best case scenario is we get a top 3 pick this year and in 2025, we get Toronto’s at #7, and hoping the Hawks get us a top 5 pick.
