Giannis Antetokounmpo injured, Boston Celtics lose to Milwaukee Bucks in ‘make/miss’ game
Giannis Antetokounmpo fell and grabbed his calf just running up the floor against the Celtics and was diagnosed with a calf strain. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal talks about that injury, the possibility of it being serious, and how it might change the entire course of the East playoffs. Plus, why the game was mostly a make/miss thing, but it did lead to one playoff question that’s been lingering for a little while.

Honestly worry level is about a four. This was a here you take a win while we stay healthy type of game but I’m afraid the role players will revert back to their old ways. Not like Sam is a Kyle Korver or anything but we need valuable minutes from him. Same with Luke. I think they are just looking tooo far ahead for the playoffs Which is the only year we can actually do that with our record. Let’s go Celtics
The minute i saw that KP and Al were sitting, i knew Boston wasn't taking this game seriously, so neither did i.
And after what happened to Giannis, I'm glad Al and KP weren't there.
Nothing to win by winning, health is more important.

Question, I keep seeing people say they weren’t playing, taking the game seriously, not trying etc, which fine, I’m in no position to say whether they were or were not, but my question is, were they purposely missing shots then, not trying to hit open shots etc? They’ve been missing an awful lot of open shots. And if they haven’t been trying in the last week and heading into the last week, while most other teams are already in playoff mode trying to secure their seedlings, are you confident the Celtics will be able to flip a magical switch once the playoffs start where they suddenly start hitting their shots they’ve been missing and turn on the intensity to match their opponents? No one seems concerned so perhaps I shouldn’t, but for some reason it just isn’t sitting right with me.

can we expect another 8/10 3pt quarter from the bucks when we see them again i doubt it Brook Lopez shot 4/5 from 3 in that first quarter this was probably brook lopezs best game in his life against Boston because usually we are able to run him off the floor oh well see them in the playoffs i hope theirs 2 teams that i really want us to matchup against in the playoffs solely off their annoying fans the heat and the bucks i hope we face both this year
There were so few free throws that even the TNT broadcasters at the end of the game were complaining that no promos were able to be done 😂. TNT not happy as well.

This game shows NBA refs never favor the celtics. Terrible game. Low effort from the starters. Might as well should have played the whole bench and rested the starters.
These celtics dont have a miracle comeback in them. They allow teams like cleveland miracle comebacks. What opposing teams can take away here is if you bury the celtics early, they stay down. Theres no fight. What the celtics have improved on this season is knowing how to keep leads when opposing teams come back. What we havent shown is showing we can come back from 20 point deficits. IMO this is a game they should've treated like a playoff game. Cant let a playoff team like the bucks gain confidence against them. Hopefully they do better vs. NY. thats the last playoff team we face. We can then go back to resting the guys vs. washington and charlotte.

It literally never ever goes away. 2 week strain is 2 weeks until you SHOULD try to load it.

Giannis going down is the exact reason I can’t understand playing starters past half. I get wanting players in rhythm and in shape 100, but let’s bring it back a bit.
Jaylen needs to rest that hand. Shot and handles still look off. No need to play through it, even if it won’t make the injury worse!
Is it me or did jaylen really hold his own on individual defense with Giannis? Just like when he guarded Zion the other week, it felt like Gianni’s just couldn’t bully ball him the way he’s used to and was bouncing off jaylen a lot more than expected…. When Pat bev is hitting threes like hauser you know it’s not your night, but seeing that matchup workout made me smile ear to ear

Only a 13-20 point game for a game without no Rim protection from KP AL & Neemi not bad. We know this game was about Mazzulla seeing what the Bucks shall do at their best because they needed this game! As well what Tillman can do and he is more of a 4 than 5. It was an unfair matchup with him against Lopez. Bucks have not seen what we can do against them for our best is yet to come. Bring on the Film!!!

All i hear is excuses that the celtics have clinched and they aren't taking anything serious right now…..trust me, this will carry over into the playoffs.
Not sure why even played our starters for as long as we did. The Bucks have rained threes on us twice this year and blown us out. Dont expect that in a seven game series but we need a gameplan.
