    THAT BOY JRUE

I will cry if Derrick’s last season with us is next year

  2. Responsible_Shirt381

    I love jrue but he’s like 34…

  3. PartyPo1s0n

We’re paying him so much so we can use him as salary filler in two or three years when he’s more washed

  4. Fans crying about being broke when they don’t foot the bill is hilarious

Extend the Buffalo then fly to Hawaii and call it a dynasty imo.

Awesome deal but doesn’t this severely cap us now? Like it’s literally run it back with vet mins and rooks (even though it was always going to be that).

  7. Uhhh….love Jrue. Don’t get me wrong. But unless Wyc is committed to paying White anything he wants no matter what I’m not sure about this one.

Please let us win this year so I can not give a fuck about our contract situation moving forward

honestly who cares how he will look at the end? it’s nice having one owner in this town be like “fuck it I am a billionaire I can’t afford to own the Celtics if I don’t pay guys”

Keith Smith on Derrick whites situation:

White’s extension is far trickier. Even with the improved veteran extension rules, White could be leaving money on the table by extending. We’ll see where that one goes.

It would be great for Boston to get an extension done, but White might do best by going to free agency.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to extend Dwhite?

The super max this offseason for Tatum and an extension for White and we are looking good!!

Man, I was thinking like $75M/3 years – guess I was way off on that one.

I am a fan of what Jrue has brought to the team, but he sure didn’t give us a discount. Hope we hang on to our 1sts the next couple of years so we can trade him for a younger upgrade.

  14. I’ll leave it to Brad and Zarren they know what they’re doing

  15. HELLLL YEAH. Loved his play all year, loved his sniper corner 3’s, loved the good vibes he’s brought.

not gonna judge the money and length because of the new cap rules, but i am glad to have Jrue for a few more years. I trust Brad and crew to make the best decision for this team

If this means no DWhite, so fucking help me god!

  18. coakimonster

Love the extension, just hope it’s front-loaded.

  19. If you’re questioning the strategy of the man who put this team together, I don’t know what to tell you. Let him cook.

Holy shit! Just saw the news, Wyc ain’t fuckin around. Let’s go!

People need to realize everyone will be getting extensions for us… with the apron penalties basically making it impossible to add players outside of trades, you can’t let anyone walk for nothing. Wouldn’t be shocked if This is essentially a 1 year deal… and then a trade asset.

  22. I feel like jrue can play well at older age, similar to Al. But that’s seems like a lot of $$.
bottom line – I trust Brad.

  23. VortexCow

4 more years, 4 more rings sounds nice (5 including this year)

  24. BradWonder

This is…interesting. Hopefully Buffalo doesn’t get shafted

  25. SmasiusClay

Well we had money to burn after Demetrius Jackson’s 100 year contract expires end of the year.

  26. dcrico20

This kind of makes me nervous about keeping White, but being a worry wart about the C’s is one of my defining characteristics.

  27. Jrue has worked out so much better than I ever imagined. I am a Marcus loyalist and defender to the grave, I’ll forever respect the effort he gave us during post Big Three rebuilding years…but my god Jrue is such a better fit for THIS team.

Edit: Beyond the talent fit, financially this is such a brilliant GM move by Brad. The new CBA rules handcuff teams with bloated salaries, so 3-4 years from now Jrue’s contract is significantly more conducive for landing a high earner since combining traded salaries is banned.
