  2. theglicky

where do they get this money, slide me sum

  3. Schafer89

Quick panic attack seeing BREAKING CELTICS in the headline

  4. Sparrow_Wilson

He’ll be 37 by the end lol. That contract will age like milk

  5. youkrocks

Let’s go! Glad to be keeping Jrue around.

  6. Cheechers23

Back end of that deal could get ugly but gives BOS a bit more tax relief next year, assuming this replaces his 39.4m player option.

  7. slysonic7

I know they have been great this year but that’s probably going to be a rough contract in a few years

  8. CookingLikeChef

Even jrue didn’t expect this much, he admitted on 4k he thought his last contract was his last big one when Giannis called him “big money”

  9. Shoddy-Media2337

I swear this dude said he wanted to retire

  10. Basbuuba12

These contracts always remind me I have no idea how salary caps work. How tf are the Celtics gonna have any money to pay for anyone else?

  11. JoJonesy

I really didn’t think this was gonna get done until the offseason. A little surprised it’s a four-year deal too.

…we *are* gonna pay Derrick, though, right?

  12. SunKing210

If this was 29 yr old Jrue I’d think this would be a great deal…but he’s currently 33 and will be 34 in a couple of months.
I’m betting down the line we’ll be seeing Boston trying to trade out of this contract

  13. DoomPurveyor

Rather have Jrue at that price than Dame making 50+

  14. 190mil to like 6 players next year? I thought the 2nd apron was supposed to stop this

  15. OttoOverKlayAnyDay

Celtics have a cap sheet from hell, if they win it all it’s worth it though.

Crazy how they still have to pay Derrick as well

  16. joebos617

who cares what he will look like by year 4 we’re trying to win rings now

  17. Kid_Crayola

Keep hauser and the buffalo and we’re all good

  18. MorePower7

NBA’s getting a massive new media rights deal and the salary cap is going to shoot up. Holiday’s cap hit looks like a sizeable number now, but it won’t be in a couple of years

  19. IRanOutOf_Names

Man was really lying to his wife about retiring next year. Glad to still have him in the league though, so fun to watch on defense.

  20. How do Celtics fans feel about being a 2nd apron team for the forseeable future? I haven’t been able to decide how I would feel about my team going over the 2nd apron.

  21. Cheeseish

Guy probably is the zero time all NBA player with the most money made in the NBA at the end of his career

  22. ImTheBestNerd

Are they just gonna be a second apron team for good?

  23. gobirds18_

Celtics better win now before they gotta pay all those contracts

  24. GoldenArcosian

dude a tatum supermax will push this team into the fifth apron at this point

  25. HeckFamous1760

Again everyone just has to get used to these new numbers, $30m is role player money

  26. peroper7

Only way it’s a bad contract is if the team can’t afford it, or it becomes untradeable. This is still great trade filler if the Celtics need someone in the future.

Jrue value probably won’t decrease a whole lot from what it is now cause of the defence. Who cares if it’s “too much”, man got paid

  27. VTuberFadeaway

Not my money, not my problem. Happy for Jrue though.

  28. cock-a-dooodle-do

Jordan Poole 4 year 140 was crazy man. Jrue is worth less than JayPoo?

  29. the_greasy_one

It’s always good to see true ballers get their payday, especially Jrue.

  30. gobirds18_

Should’ve made him earn it in the playoffs

  31. whitefang0824

Nice bag for probably his last big contract

  32. dimesniffer

How do they have any money after Tatum and brown????

  33. Midnight_Oil_

Worth every penny. Jrue is just the best and I’m so sad we traded him.

  34. man i remember when lebron went to miami and tim legler was on espn breaking down how the big 3 could work with the salary cap of like 60 million lol. 14 years later and like super max contract dudes are making that in a year.

overpay for jrue but celtics couldn’t let him walk

  35. DJRyGuy20

Dammit man, I *knew* I should’ve tried harder to be an NBA player…

  36. vitalbumhole

How do the Celtics have this much money? Genuinely do not understand how they afford to pay all these dudes?

  37. We drafting Bronny and getting LeBron for free just to banish them to the G League championship winning Maine Celtics

  38. Marcy_OW

They can’t keep getting away with this shit, how do they have unlimited money
