An insanely bad contract for the Celtics Jrue’s agent should get an award from the players union

  2. DaDragster

I’m all out of copium he would decline his option and re-sign here… 😔

  3. Kettleman1

Sucks it’s the Celtics but get that bag Jrue!

  4. BPicks69

Don’t worry guys they’ll unload him after he’s broke his back like they’re last 3 Point Guards and they’ll get back something good for pennys on the dollar.

  5. leefordj

Damn that’s a ton of money for jrue. I would’ve guessed 4 years 100mill at most seeing as how he’s on the decline. This could end up like a PJ Tucker contract.

  6. ace_dangerfield187

they are gonna have 4 max players, that bench is gonna suffer

  7. thefranchise23

how can they afford that with tatum and brown and porzingus, that’s kinda crazy

  8. Kevin_Jim

Their tax is going to be insane with Jaylen and Jrue making so much time.

  9. WeefBellington24

How do the Celtics even afford this

  10. the_Formuoli_

    Good for jrue

Kinda sucks he may end up having played more years for Boston than he did in Milwaukee (even though the end of that Boston contract could get rough)

  11. I fail to see how they can pay white and KP at market rates, especially white, with two supermaxes (soon) and this contract. Bench guys like Pritchard and hauser who will also be able to get more in free agency won’t stay because they need their one big nba contract. Celtics have to win this year or it might get bad

  12. robin7214

So we’re not getting jrue on the vet min next year? 🙁

  13. I don’t understand how salary cap works but it apparently don’t apply to Boston huh? Happy for Jure

  14. Suspicious_Team_9133

Haha what a terrible deal for them, he’s been falling off since last year

  15. SwagTwoButton

I always dreamed we’d find a way to bring him back for a victory lap. Seemed less likely when he made some negative comments about how the bucks handled things. Seems almost impossible now.

  16. Guarantees them a window but keeping white is going to be tough. He’s playing like a near max guy.

  17. One-Earth9294

Good money for a good dude who I still dig. Fuck the Celtics though.

  18. Loose-Sandwich-5493

Happy for Jrue but I’m glad we don’t have that contract.

  19. anonymous_teve

Good for him, he deserves it. If he keeps staying healthy, this is a good deal for Boston too, sadly.

I thought Jrue said he was retiring. Still think that interview put a bad idea in Bucks & Giannis minds and was a factor in his departure.

  21. ExpressBug8265

Nice. Well deserved. I wish nothing but the best for him…except for when/if he plays us in the playoffs, then…he is dead to me lol

  22. Giannisisnumber1

Jesus what an overpay for a player at the tail end of his career

  23. Fresh-Bass-3586

Rip to all the people on this sub who kept saying “jrue was retiring after this deal” when it was obvious from the jump he was angling for a fatty extension

  24. JohnJayMaxwell

Good person. Happy for Jrue and family.

  25. OGClouds420

Bro didn’t he say he was retiring in 2 years? I’m the only fan who feels a bit betrayed?

  26. PillsburyToasters

Well shit that’s not what I wanted to see. Happy that Jrue got this extension. Too valuable of an asset to make a win now trade and let walk for nothing

  27. slimreaper2876

Good for him but when he was with the bucks didn’t he say he was gonna retire when the current contract was up?

  28. 1antinomy

The fact they have to give Derrick White a similar or even bigger contract next season has to be scary for them

Tatum & Brown on $60M/yr each, Porzingis at $30M, Jrue on $33M & White on $35M+

    – Brown 5/$305M
    – Tatum 5/$335M
    – Porzingis 3/$100M
    – Jrue 4/$135M
    – White 4/160M (estimate)

Is that even possible under the new CBA?
