People are overthinking this. Remember when you were young and had dreams? Like many people here, KD dreamt of playing in the NBA. Seattle/OKC time was when he achieved his dream, played against his childhood idols, etc.

It’s like why my favorite part of every video game, particularly RPGs, is the beginning. Your character is a blank slate, you haven’t started getting bogged down with side quests and you’re not regretting the skill points you spent yet. I understand him completely.

Our team is like… the super ideal situation for him funnily enough. It’s one of the few realistic places he can be a secondary star, which he’s best suited for.
