The “luka had no help and now he does” narrative may just be one of the most idiotic narratives I’ve ever seen in nba discourse.

The logic of Mavs fans: Kristaps Porzingis, Brunson, Tim Hardaway, jj reddick, Josh Richardson, Willie caulli stein, a great backup pg Trey burke, AND DORIAN FINNEY SMITH one of the only players in the league who’s a great matchup against Kawhi is “no help”

However, a literal bench player for the hornets (pj washington), a passed around blunt who has a very very limited offensive game (Derrick Jones jr), an abysmally horrific defensive liability (kyrie), and two centers who have 0 offense outside of being lob threats and can’t guard the perimeter with one of them being very injury prone rookie (gaff and lively) is considered “help”😂😂 make it make sense

I remember Morris was legitimately the worst player on the court at times, he had to be hitting his averages just to break even. Man was our 3rd/4th option. Luka’s supporting cast played amazing & they still lost.

Yes it’s very clear PG13 was pandemic P and Morris was not playing up to scuff. Kawhi literally carried in both 2020 and 2021.

I forgot Kawhi outscored Luka in 2020 because I always thought his games 6 and 7 in 2021 were much more impressive performances. Even at such a young career age Luka was elite at scoring and I guess he’s #2 ppg leader in playoff history. Just seeing Kawhi of all people outscore him in a series isn’t talked about enough.

This hot streak has the Mavs fans forgetting that their team still has weaknesses. Just like a lot of us did when we had our hot streak.
