Our record is horrible without Jak. He’s part of our present and under contract for 3 more years. I don’t see the issue. If anything we need a back up center in case he goes down again. Preferably a young one we can develop and eventually replace him. Kelly is a really a stretch 4 not 5.

Fans aren’t going to like this but I think Yak should not be part of this teams future plans. He’s incredibly overrated for a guy who hasn’t taken us to any post seasons, we still have a losing record when he plays. He’s not getting any younger, can’t shoot, bad free throw shooter, not much of a shot blocker (Koloko was better there as a rookie), he’s not fast or mobile enough to be the teams defensive anchor. His passing isn’t enough, lots of good passing big men were better because they could actually shoot a little like Sabonis, Marc Gasol and Jokic. Even Bam being an incredibly undersized center is a better passer and defender while being capable of shooting a little. Yak is not a strong old school big like Steven Adam’s who actually sets great screens and was a walking double double.
