If I felt like I absolutely had to trade for AD, I would rather send Mitch, Sims, and Bogi (and several picks) to LA – simply because we would be a finals bound team if we can add AD to play the 5 and keep Randle at the 4.
But I do understand that salary cap considerations (specifically the second apron) would require any superstar trade (for an elite-level front-court player like Embid, Giannis, AD, or KAT) involve Randle.
Randle is the oldest of the starting 5 and (relative to the size of his contract) has proven to be the least effective for the Knicks in the playoffs. Randle is also eligible for a sizable extension next season. 😔
