The guy is young enough to not know how drugs and alcohol work in adult lives. Especially if he's never tried it. D.A.R.E. told us it was all evil and as kids we believed it. Can't really blame him for not having some nuance to the situation. It comes from experience and he doesn't have it. He'll get some champagne and wine at some point in his career lol

Nah. You've got it in reverse. His young life experience is that he sees alot of people using drugs/alcohol etc to elevate, compensate for what they lack. Its obviously a generalisation, but getting upset by this is possibly picking at insecurities of people tgat need that stuff for any reason.

He's just being honest. He was brought up in an environment where drugs and alcohol is a form of escapism. Remember both his parents were athletes so these forms of recreation is a really detrimental for them.

I'd like to see more of you bringing your knowledge into topics like this. Wemby's comments don't bother me, but they do sound entitled. If that's the worst part of his personality, then that's ok. I've personally been near serious drug use. I don't partake and I leave it at 'I'm good.' IMHO that's the extent of what should be said.
This is why we are in teouble, we praise drake for making fun of rappers for being poorer than him and condem Wemby for looking down on bad habits. Keep distracted and stay poor.

I hate how normalized drugs are nowadays. Its so rare to find someone who stays out of it completely, so it made me happy to hear Wemby wants to avoid it. Of course i think it's fine if you partake in that stuff, but as someone who stays away from it I just wish it wasn't all over our society

It’a true, If you took Wemby’s comments personally then maybe you should think why that is. When I hear something that doesn’t apply to me, it doesn’t bother me. People do hide in drugs and alcohol or use it to cope and the hard partiers can be compensating or posing. If you go hang out with friends and have some drinks I don’t think he’s talking about you.
I think ppl overreacting on this one, remember 1 hes 20 2 hes been balling his all life his both of his parent are professional he has had the healthiest life you could think for someone who has victor expectations. So for him he doesn't understand why ppl are partying or doing drug when they play in the best league to be the best players or whatever.
