What about: "a good offensive is the best defense"??? Among all Mavs approaches, I think this is their real secret, excuse me for the long explanation: curry inserted the three-point strategy, which opened the court sideways, in a few years, players became three-point shooters, and smaller ball teams. 2024, Dallas emerges with Doncic and his ability to pass like nobody's business, but he also becomes the second three-point shooter by volume this year, Mavs get Lively and Gafford and P.J. and the amount of mid-range, short-range and long-range passes from Doncic increases dramatically, the pick-and-roll increases, the court is no longer just open to the sides, it's now open to the middle of the court to receive Doncic and defend him up close as soon as he crosses the half, often with early double team from 30 and 40 feet, Mavs dominate the game, the best defense is a good offense, the fastbreaks multiply, the opposing team gets messed up so often in the middle of the game that the Mavs multiply the steals and blocks, plenty of turnovers favoring Mavs. Result, dominant defense, and overwhelming offense.
Kyrie effect: Luka starts the game with his close game, three pointers, passing, dominant scoring in the beginning, then they start to apply Kyrie's quickness, Mavs apply it more intense towards the second quarter. From the third quarter on, Kyrie takes center stage with his quickness, the court is completely open now towards the half court, the opposing team is not only messed up, but they are also tired as hell and Kyrie is still starting to do damage along with none other than the perfect partner: Luka Dončić. Victory.
