[Bontemps] Nick Nurse said he called timeout before the ball was inbounded and as it was inbounded to Tyrese Maxey, and it wasn’t granted. Said the team played well and improved in a bunch of areas, but obviously that was a difficult loss. “It makes the series a little longer.”

> Nick Nurse said he very clearly called timeout twice on the final scramble. He said he isn’t sure what else he has to do in order to get his teammate.
>I followed up by asking if the official gave him an explanation and he said there was no time to talk about it. #Sixers

> Here’s Nurse after the game saying the referees ignored him as he called a timeout
Ain’t no long series we getting swept bruh
Refs were in their bag tonight
Nothing ever changes. I don’t give a fuck what bullshit they write on the L2M report, we are still down 0-2 now because of their incompetence
The NBA is such an embarrassing league
Not gonna lie that shit was depressing cause I thought its ball game with a minute to go. But, Im excited for game 3 back in philly.
The nba won’t let the Knicks lose
Kyle Lowry needs to know to call a timeout there. There’s literally no reason to not advance the ball. Bonehead play from a veteran.

I will ride with Nick Nurse as our coach forever. NBA is criminal to ignore those time outs, but I love that he absolutely expects to win this series.
I understand it was pretty bang bang but as a ref you gotta know that Nurse is gonna call a timeout the instant that there’s possession. To look at him and just ignore it is really something else. Especially after an entire game of the sixers getting called for shit the Knicks do on every possesion
A little longer? It’s gonna be real short if you can’t win a freakin game
Ref fans eating
“And it wasn’t granted” ref- “yeah no you don’t get a time out right now fuck you”
protest the result
That inbounds play was not a smart play. Lowry should have looked over at the bench and then called time. Since he didn’t, he should have run left up the sideline with Maxey to give him a pass without Hart in the play. Lowry just stands there and Maxey is jumped by Brunson and Hart. Bad play all around.
Then the refs were horrible. Maxey is getting his jersey grabbed by Brunson before Lowry’s inbound. Ref should have called an away from the ball foul.
This loss comes down to the Sixers not making smart plays and losing composure at the end of the quarter. Stings more than when Ben decides to take a shot after getting an offensive rebound against Boston that results in a Horford 3 to lose that game in ‘18. I can forgive Maxey a bit, but Lowry is an experienced vet. He’s gotta keep his head and not make that inbound if it’s not 100% clear. Call the time out yourself.
He has to move onto the court while calling for time. He can’t be ignored.
Series is going to be as short as possible, oddly enough
“It makes the series a little longer.”
Damn, that’s about as close to shit talking the Knicks as you can get while being civil. Makes it sound like this series is nothing more than an inconvenience despite the dire situation. Maybe Nurse just isn’t sweating this and we need to let it cook.
Refball is frustrating, but we should’ve advanced that ball instead of forcing the inbound.
NBA desperate to make the Knicks like the Giants lmao. Fuck them so much bro. Giants earned these wins than the Knicks.
he’s a liar watch the replay. he first signaled to the ref when maxey had already lost the ball. before that you can see he was considering it but never signaled anything to the refs.
bottom line maxey should have never tried to pass it once he fell down.
He pump faked a time out and then Maxey didn’t have possession
Nurse is straight up lying. He puts his hands in the air, ready to call the timeout if Lowry couldn’t get the inbound but Lowry jumps the gun and throws the shitty pass to Maxey. Nurse never actually called the inbound timeout.

1. He was in motion to take a timeout, then took it back.
2. Maxey didn’t have possession.
What reality are we in where these 2 things that clearly happened are ignored?
