Philly fan here, that was an uncharacteristic dirty play by embiid, he shouldn’t have done it and I hope he checks himself now, and I’m sure he will.
However, Embiid is 7ft and has every move in the book, He’s going to successfully shoot over you if you defend him normally, so players are forced to foul him way more.
He baits just as many shots as he gets no calls because he’s fouled maybe every second play.
Don’t tell me Brunson doesn’t foul bait too. He does it way more blatantly, and I’m fine with it, it’s called being aggressive. Otherwise he’d be playing like Tobias Harris, go downhill, get fouled. It’s a good thing.
