While we wait for an injury update – the Celtics had a 21-4 record without Kristaps Porzingis this year. If there’s a team built to sustain an injury to a star player, it’s Boston.

Anyone know when we might hear an update from the team?

  2. Kornet and Tillman can carry the load, Celtics can just go back with Al in the starting lineup. Let Tingus heal up.

thats why we rest some stars for some games, to build chemistry even without one of them

Although the record looks amazing, we played mostly against non-playoffs teams or games where injuries or the schedule favored us. The Celtics knew what they were doing when they rested Porzingis.

That said, I think we’ll be fine without him in case he misses the conf semifinals.

  5. Horford is still a quality starter, Kornett is one of the better backup bigs in the league. Kristaps is important because he has unique talent, but our roster is deep.

Honestly Tillman could be big next series especially if we go against the cavs we saw how the Knicks manhandle the cavs bigs and Tillman way stronger than mobley and Allen

This team without KP is still the favorite to come out of the East, imo. With the Bucks and 76ers likely done the Knicks are probably our biggest threat and they’re also injured.

Like without KP we’re just the 2022 finals team minus Rob (who has hurt anyways), but everyone has improved a lot individually and the bench is better.

We may need his X factor to overcome the Nuggets or Wolves though, so hopefully he can return by then.

Lowkey I feel like we play better on offense without porzingis , or at least more free . I feel like when he’s in the offense stagnates a little trying to force feed him in the post .

I think Jrue holiday is going to have to play the porzingis role on offense in KP’s absence, meaning that I think he’s going to have to play down low and be an outlet. We’ve seen the last 2 years that a 5-out offense can be shut down by a smart and capable team. We need to have someone willing to facilitate the offense down low to open space when teams go zone.

We’ll see what the round 2 matchup is and how we will handle it. It’ll suck if it’s cleveland because porzingis would be such a weapon agains that cleveland double big lineup. They could not play it against us with KP. Without him, it’s going to be tougher to score inside, so we’ll have to shoot the ball very well from three.

  10. I think we’ll be ok through the East but I don’t see us beating any of the teams in the west without KP. Minnesota and Denver specifically would crush us without Porzingis

Imagine this – Tatum has the ability to take over any game! Fuck the disrespect I need a 40+ ball from our boy to silence all the haters. I woke up hearing nothing but SGA, Edwards, etc. What about our 26 yo young buck?

Also while we’re at this, please give Dwhite new contract, I can’t bare to see him in another team blocking and torching people with three. The Celtics have luxury having a 3rd star

We can sustain the Heat/Magic/Cavs without KP. He is needed for the conference finals. No question.

This is literally why we traded for Tillman as well. Brad talked about it before the deadline – the team was set for the main rotation and he wasn’t looking for someone who would crack into that, he was looking for players that could be injury insurance.

My hope is he misses game 5, we win, then he’s back for game 1 or 2 of the next series

We can win without KP, but KP is definitely going to be a difference maker the deeper we get and gives us more offensive options. That matters when our others aren’t working. It’s why he is so important. It adds a very important facet to our offense.

  17. TheFirstExecutioner

Rest him till the conference finals at minimum. We can finish off Miami and handle Cavs/Magic without him. Al and X gonna give it to em (sprinkle in a little Kornet in there too)

  18. Drummallumin

Tillman can replace him defensively, but the Jays need to be *those guys* on offense

  19. NEpatsfan64

Honestly as much as not having KP will suck, having Horford relatively fresh coming off the bench to fill in for him is best case scenario. He probably would’ve started all season on a lot of other teams but here he just got to play partial minutes and hopefully will not fade in the playoffs like he did last year.

    Kornet should not play more

He can’t guard any switch bam is too quick and strong and every other player is too quick

Tillman diving at the legs of bam, herro and tatums second son (Caleb) is what I want to see
