I noticed in the game 4 loss, Suggs was the only Magic guard who scored points. The rest of the guards went a combined 0-19 and had a total of three assists. Banchero alone had five. In game 5, your starting guard Harris had zero points again and you lost by 1.
I can’t help but think that adding an elite scorer like Simons would put the Magic over the top. Portland is rebuilding and probably looking to trade Simons, maybe even just for draft picks. Orlando has enough picks and cap room to do that, and with several guys becoming UFAs, they’ll have the roster space.
So what kind of offer do you think the magic would make for Simons?

I think fans over value the score only guard archetype because fans like scoring. I don’t think the Magic FO would value his playstyle highly so I don’t think they would give a lot a way for him, similar to how Herro never fetched any good return.
I guess any deal that could happen would include and our own first. I don’t see them moving AB, but possibly Jett and WCJ.
Id rather just sign Monk as a FA. I have more faith in Monk’s defense and believe he will look like a decent defender for the Magic.
Not really a fan of Simons. No defense, injury prone and making 26 mill/yr. If i had to, Id give up the 2024 pick, MAYBE add the 2025 Denver pick, but definitely wouldnt add more.
A protected 1st round pick a 2nd Round Pick, a salary filler and Cole Anthony.
