Anthony Edwards took Phoenix’s lunch and danced on the Suns’ grave during Minnesota’s first-round sweep, and that got all the headlines.

But the truth is that the Timberwolves were just a better-built team, and everyone should’ve seen it coming.

Trading for Bradley Beal absolutely sunk the Suns, and there’s nothing they can do about it going forward … well, almost nothing.

    For those who somehow still don't get how historically bad Beal's contract is, here's a list of all NBA players to ever receive a no trade clause in their contract:

    Carmelo, Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, LeBron, Dirk, David Robinson, Stockton, D Wade…. and Bradley Beal

    Beal is a poor man's Lillard. Both charismatic scorers in non-contenders with zero pressure. But when they were given the opportunity to be a part of a championship caliber team, they blew it.

    They’re a team without anyone to run the offense or give them any sort of identity outside of KD, Booker, and Beal playing the whole “Your turn, my turn” game and winging every possession. They’ve got plenty of talent and skill, with nobody there to direct the team on the court. Absolutely zero defense on that team too

    Noone is going to talk about how a dark cloud follows KD everywhere he goes? I'm glad he's almost done his career, he just so full of shit and drama, this is first time in over 30 years of watching the NBA where I'm actually looking forward to a player being out of the league

    The Beal trade did nothing but help. People dont get this. Even with CP3's salary off the books the Suns would still be on the second apron, still no cap space. The roster would be the same just with an old CP3 that doesnt even play in the playoffs anyway. Getting Beal was a free upgrade over CP3. They didnt surrender anything other than CP3 and Shamet and some draft swaps that had already been traded so those were really bad drafts anyway. The Suns' demise actually was accelerating the timeline by trading for KD.

    Beal doing all that talk then proceeding to play the worst game of basketball in his career with a no trade clause has got to have management feeling like clowns.
