He better not play any basketball for Greece this summer. Thanasis can take his spot

Makes me feel better knowing we weren’t winning shit this year because Giannis wasn’t going to be back at 100%. Would have been hilarious to beat the Pacers but oh well

Sooooooooooo I’m just going to pencil you in as “Doubtful”, sound good?

Must have been a pretty severe strain. Average return to play is 17 days and we’re over three weeks out. If he’s still that far from running full speed, we never had a chance.

Sucks – cursed / lost year. Oh well, hope we can reload/retool and come back much better next year. Hard way to end the year, but I guess it kind of fits given all the bad juju from the year. Bucks in 6 and FMD.

This year’s playoffs sucked a lot less than last year in my opinion.
All the moves in the offseason were based around Jrue and not Dame, 2 new coaches, big 3 barely played together under Doc, etc. made me feel like our chances of beating Boston and then Nuggets/whoever comes out of the west were pretty low either way.

Now the team will have the full offseason to regroup, make roster moves around Dame, and actually have some training camps together.

Sucks we didn’t get to see any Dame and Giannis in the playoffs but its 100x better than forcing it and Giannis getting more hurt.

Good decision. Next year is our title run.

We weren’t winning the championship anyway

With this quote, I doubt Giannis would’ve played in the 2nd series had we won against the Pacers. I’d rather lose a series vs. lose Giannis due to an achilles tear or something like what happened with Durant. Try again next year and hope we’re healthy entering the playoffs.

Because he knowed they would lose anyway

  11. Eastern_Wrangler_595

You know pacers lost game 5 on purpose they wanted to win series at home since they havent won one in 10 years

I am actually kinda relieved he DIDN’T play, which may have resulted in something more serious. Now looking forward to a healthy return next year. Go Bucks!

Giannis play style and dominance took a toll on his body this season and got injured just before playoffs. Like his body was probably telling him it needed to rest. Lucky the injury wasn’t a tear of some sort.

If we still go for some low end vets to fill in the top of the rotation, I don’t see how we’ll have a better future next season.

There’s a quintessential, desperate even, need for the younglings to be playoff players. Period.

The Celtics, Nuggets, OKC, Mavs, Wolves, etc. all have this exact characteristic.

If we can’t get two (min) of the younglings to become starter and major off the bench performers, we are porked.

Can Doc do that? Can the young players? I pray that is the case, but color me skeptical until I see it with my own eyes.

  16. In hindsight it’s probably good long term that we didn’t have a long playoff run & risk bringing Giannis back only to lose to Boston, etc. Get well Freak!

I’m relieved it was smoke because anyone that has strained their soleus can tell you it’s a nightmare to try to over-exert when it’s not ready. Not to mentioned the Achilles concern

  18. end of the day its just a game. dude has his priorities straight
