Victor Wembanyama will most likely win rookie of the year and has an outside chance at defensive player of the year. Either way the Spurs got everything they hoped for but what’s next? This is a look at San Antonio’s offseason plans to build around Wemby.

    Most teams aren’t built through Free agency anymore. Save the cap space to sign all your young studs for life. You know like Sochan, who they’re never going trade.

    None of the trades will happen, they have gold draft picks until 2030 (not saying they will tank until 2030 lol) but they will target some vets in FA and SAS always great at targeting draft picks whether 1st pick or 50th

    If I was the Spurs I would follow OKC. They have really good young players. If possible they should trade for booker. But what do I know.

    I think the Spurs play it smart. I think they keep all their picks, rebuild in the draft and use their cap space to bring in vet players.

    ngl Vassell & Keldon Johnson still good fits with Wemby, they both can develop into elite 2 way players, just add a really good PG around that whether it’s Trae or Garland or simply just a vet like a Russ CP3 type player to establish a culture but get Wemby involved

    The Spurs season was spectacularly unspectacular, but I believed it served one purpose.
    Basically, they had the whole season to understand who Wemby is from a practical standpoint …

    Teams are built not bought nowadays. Its a new era where teams that took time to build like the Nuggets, Thunder and Timberwolves are now the successful teams and teams that made big trades to get where they are like the Suns are struggling. This team needs time to work together and click, they do NOT need to shuffle the deck.
