I completely agree. He’s a great target. There are no starting caliber PF in free agency (unless obviously Lebron, Siakim, or PG enter FA). Therefore, they pretty much have to go with a trade for one or try Paul Reed there and hope it works. I for one want absolutely 100% no part of a Paul Reed experiment at PF.
Deni would also bring some rebounding that desperately needed.

These are exactly the types of guys we are looking for, not fucking Playoff P. It’s a bummer most of them need to be traded for, but still. We’ve got picks, let’s go get some random value contracts!

Deni and Kispert for a down the line pick would be a great depth move. Avdija already on super team-friendly (descending!) deal making 15M this year slowly down to 11M in 2027. Kispert on a team option year that could be a similar extension like 4/40-4/48. Another depth wing who can have hot nights, shooting 38% on 3s this year. Washington doesn’t have a plan right now other than be bad and draft, get those kind of guys on to better situations.

I’d rather we sign him than Playoff P or Jimmy Butler – we just need improvement around the edges, not a total rebuild.

I’ve been watching him pretty closely the past two seasons (got him in fantasy two years ago, and he ended up being fun to watch), and I’d love him on the Sixers. Problem is he’s young and talented, so I imagine they’d want a good return for him. But considering how far out their contention timeline, maybe he doesn’t fit?
I’d say it’s doable (I don’t know the process though), and I’d be all for it.

He’s not really a good shooter though. He shot 37% this year but it was on extremely low attempts.

It *feels* like the sixers have the exact same problem as the birds did this year: too light and no strength when it matters. Do NOT need someone like PG (BECAUSE WE ALREADY TRIED THIS WITH HARDEN, ENOUGH WITH THE OLDHEAD VETS), but going younger, more athletic, and stronger would be much much better. But who’s on this list is unbeknownst to me 🤷

we got two guys who are capable of putting up 40+ point games against good playoff teams. we need depth. these are the type of moves i wanna see. get on base morey!
Thicen
He’s a career 33% 3 pt shooter who only takes 3 3pa per game and is only a 74% ft shooter.
It is way more likely that his percentages this year were an anamoly than who he actually is. Washington would be smart to sell high

I wrote it here in January and got flamed…

I would be SO on board with this
Would be extremely promising imo from a team building perspective.
Buddy-Hield-2Pointer
I also want Desmond Bane and Jalen Johnson.
TheArsenal7
I would easily take him he looked good on a trash wizards team and has plenty more potential

What would the Sixers even give up for Avdija? He’s proven to be a good player on a very good, long term deal. Why would the Wizards just move off him for some late first round draft picks?

I’d love him on the Sixers. A Toni Kukoc on the Bulls type of player. That’s the smart move, for 35 year old max players who havent done shit in 5 years.
