Lemme know when the pacers start playing defense

  2. Knicks won’t win with a 7(really a 6) man rotation. Thibs needs to sprinkle in Burks and Precious and see who matches up better with the Pacers and add them into rotation. Josh Hart and OG are playing crazy minutes rn and he needs to do something to reduce the amount they’re playing.

I hope its easier than the sixers series. My heart still isn’t right after those 5 games. It’ll take at least a month for my nails to grow back after all the biting I did. And I never even bit my nails before. That series started it.

  4. glazeddonutintheface

I agree that they’ll test us and our lack of bench shooting is a concern for sure. But I also think iHart and Mitch will be mad beasts out there freed from the shackles of having to hold down an evil Djinn. I trust the Thibs system to have an answer to Pacers’ speed, and if we can both slow them down and outrebound them, it becomes a solvable problem.

But the games have to be played. I’m stoked for a winnable but not easy second round series.

  5. ProvocativeHotTakes

People act like the Knicks looked gassed at the end of games. The league and media (aka former NBA stars) secretly hopes Thibs Knicks doesn’t put the notion of minute restriction to sleep so their records can last just that much longer.

Not sure enough is being made of how thin the Knicks rotation is now?
I don’t think you’re sure enough about how we’ve conditioned for this since training camp. We are built different.

  7. aesop_fables

Knicks in 5. Their pace slowed completely down in the playoffs against a decimated Bucks team. We just beat arguably the 3rd best team in the eastern conference playoffs. We’re fine guys stop worrying

  8. skimcpip

I think since they don’t have to face Embiid the Knicks can slightly expand their rotation.

  9. skimcpip

Indiana had the 24th out of 30 DRtg in the regular season. Their DRtg in the playoffs is better but they’ve only played one (injury hobbled) team so it’s hard to draw conclusions.

Knicks need to put extra emphasis on limiting turnovers and jam up the pacers in transition. They like to run, we can’t let them outrun us and kill us with lobs like they do to other teams.

The way I see it, Indiana is in a similar tier to Cleveland, which we dog walked 4-1 last year. We are the more experienced team and we should pull through.

  11. BigToeJ0e

I think the Knicks win the series in 6 games but it won’t be easy. I’m just glad they don’t have to play Embiid.

  12. PluvioPurple

We’ll need to stop or survive their 3pt barrages

  13. babyshmuel

I agree. Don’t underestimate your opponent like the sixers did.

  14. Ok_Refuse_2337

I know everyone wants to limit expectations and not underestimate our opponent… but we’re not the ones playing. We can be honest with ourselves. Indiana should not take more than a single game. If they do, we are not a serious team.
Indy is only in the playoffs due to weird circumstances and made the 2nd round on pure luck.

We should dog walk them if we have any hope in competing with Boston.

  15. Tradeandworkout

I agree. We will need Burks, McBride and Ach to play big in this one.

  16. swarshmallow103

This is a VALID concern. I still trust our team, especially Thibs, to address and take care of this.

  17. mavrik2190

Who cares? His opinion holds no more value than anyone else. Evaluate the series and come to your own conclusion. Don’t allow another fans opinion to dictate how YOU feel.

  18. Acceptable_Pop4515

I respect this opinion but it was made clear to me through this series that our guys are ready to play big minutes and make big plays down the stretch. Thibs did a great job during the season conditioning his guys for battles like that.

  19. heliumointment

who knows, it’ll be a good series though

i don’t really care how many/few games it takes i just want the ECF

  20. Organic-Effective-61

I don’t know who that is. I think our boys match up nicely against Indiana and our physical style should wear them down. They’re poor on D. However, I do think there is a shelf-life for a 7-man rotation.

“Not enough being made” isn’t accurate, though. I think we’re all aware that we’re thin. If any team is prepared for a 7-man rotation, it’s the Thibs Knicks.

  21. FitzwilliamTDarcy

Not sure that “enough” isn’t in fact being made of our thin rotation.

  22. EliManningsPetDog

Took a whole tweet to say a whole lot of nothing lol.

Knicks could win. Maybe the Pacers could win.

    Wow great insight!!

  23. Struggle2Real

    DJ knows his ish.

    That’s my lone contribution here.

*Do not mistake that sentiment as agreement with his post*.

  24. ChewieLee13088

Pacers looked good against a beat up, injured bucs team. They will look less superior against the Knicks. Knicks in 6. 👊

  25. 8SumDingWong

I wanted Cleveland. I think we match up better against them. Pacers youth and speed worry me more than Donovan.

  26. We really feeling like Indy is going to be tougher than Philly? There’s no reason why Precious shouldn’t get plenty of burn this series. With Indy playing 5 out, this would be the matchup to use him.

I just think, JB will be the best player on the court for every game. And this Indy team doesn’t play defense, so already that’s a huge advantage.

A young team playing at MSG? We already saw what an advantage that was vs the Cavs in ‘23.

We also have elite defense at every level. Whether that be Deuce, OG, Mitch, and even IHart.

And history has shown defense usually wins out vs offense.

They’re nice, no doubt. But think we’re giving them a little too much respect.

  27. lololyouthought

Their height and shooting will be a problem. Hopefully we get the regular season ihart and Mitch dominance without embiid and the slurping the refs gave him.

  28. WhyTypeHour

I just want to reiterate how fucking dumb the idea of tanking the last game to not get the 2 seed looks in hindsight.

  29. Its_Mike_Nasty

Pacers are gonna run the Knicks up and down the court, hoping to tire them out with such a lack of depth. DJ’s concern here is valid.

At the end of the day, I trust this team. I think we win in 6. Don’t think it’s gonna be an easy series by any stretch.

  30. Sad-Ad2030

I agree, Bojan was a huge loss long term.
