Yes, i’m disappointed how that 2nd Half unfolded, we gassed out unfortunately. But overall, i’m so ecstatic how this season turned out man. From 34 wins last year, to 47 wins and a playoff berth. I couldn’t be more proud of this team. The best part of all this? We’re in an AMAZING position going into this Summer. We have a fantastic coach, a boatload of cap space, TWO young superstars on the rise, and a core group of players that are bought into the process. Last Summer was certainly too early to make a big splash in Free Agency with our guys being so young and inexperienced. But there’s no denying, THIS Summer there will be a massive move at the Point Guard position. The options are abundant, and Trae Young will be on the table. So it will be interesting to see what Weltham decides to do. Regardless, it’s been an amazing ride this season, the future is brighter than ever, I love all you boys, and see you next season!
If we can get guards who can shoot we’re going to be a problem next yr
Cavs fan coming in peace! What a fun series.
Your team really surprised me. I have multiple texts to my brother like “CAVS IN 3” or “CAVS BY A BILLION” and this was obviously not the case. Solid team. Solid coaching. Great series. Good luck next year and play the song (that shit is so catchy, even my non-basektball fan coworkers know it!) 😂
I love this team but I’m getting sick of moral victories man. I’m 20 years old and started watching basketball at 7 and I’ve never seen my team win a single playoff series. I just want 1 man.
Ingles has got to be the first out the door. Guy doesn’t give a shit about anything
Paolo is him, this whole squad are THEM!
we will be back stronger
Our lack of experience and immaturity was our downfall. We had every opportunity to win and most likely should have won this series. Frustrating to see the team play scared in the 3rd quarter. Home court advantage was huge this series. However, if we can’t win one on the road then we don’t deserve to advance. It is what it is.
What a bummer. This team is a year away from being something special in the playoffs. Rooting for yall next year as my east team!
Why is Ingles old bitch ass on the team? Like what does he do ? Nothing at all, guy is ass, retire already
The thing that really upset me is how Mosley failed to give Anthony Black any playoff experience. He could’ve easily found 10 min let alone 5 min for him in any of the games. Mosley talked about the next man up mentality but when some players were struggling real back he did not extend his rotation to add AB and Goga who clearly could have provided some help.
Dog shit second half Jesus
Disappointing way to go out, but in truth not unexpected. Not exactly the first time that we’ve flatlined offensively in high stakes games.
The good thing is that Weltman is now on the watch. He’s seen numerous offensively meltdowns this season, including today in the most important game of the season. There are no more “wait and see” cards left for him to play, and if he doesn’t begin building some serious offence around Paolo then his job should be on the line.
I’m quietly glad that we don’t have to play Boston, genuinely think that could have been a humiliation.
Great season overall though, go Magic.

Tough loss but I’m proud of the team nonetheless. Offense was just a little stagnant, which really was an issue all series. I know this will fuel Franz and he will bounce back from this. Great future ahead, really no reason to despair..we good.
Wow up by 20 so I decided to go for a drive! What the he’ll happened 😳
I know it’s “shit on Franz and Suggs’ offensive game” time, but I don’t think they were the leading culprit to the loss.
This may be greatly unpopular, but this loss falls directly onto Mosley’s inability to coach on the offensive end of the court. I was absolutely blown away at the fact that we allowed 2 of their 3 starters to essentially play the entire second half with 4 fouls (with Garland only picking up his 5th with 5ish minutes left to go in the game). Hell, even Mitchell had 3 at some point in the 3rd and there wasn’t much being done about it. He did it the game prior, which is the most maddening part of the whole foul situation thing.
I know there weren’t a lot of minutes without Mobley off the court, but anytime he was, the possession should have ended with two feet in the paint. Those minutes should have also led to Paolo at center and feasting on Thompson. They didn’t do it in game 6, and only had a few opportunities to do it today and didn’t take advantage. He let Cole sit for far too long when he helped stretch the lead to 18. He stuck with WCJ for way too long when he was unplayable today. I’ll defend Fultz for as long as I can, but I think those minutes would have been better suited for Cole today the way he was playing.
Mosley just flat out got made to look like a fool this series and I seriously question if he can coach offense at the level required to sustainably win in the playoffs.
Edit: I posted [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/OrlandoMagic/comments/1chb8u9/comment/l21fv78/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) 5 days ago…no adjustments or awareness to foul trouble. If you get guys in foul trouble, MAKE THEM DEFEND.
Horrible end to a season, but like man…I’m so proud of this team. Supposed to be a play-in team and took it to game 7. Fought hard all season and the futures so bright. Big off-season needed and hopefully the FO sees the holes. But like after the last 10ish years I couldn’t be more proud to be a fan
My half chub is gone. What a ruined orgasm.
Proud of this team! First time in a while we have optimism going in and salary cap. What’s the salary cap status for this team. Whose contract is up? I know ingles and fultz. What about Carter and Harris?
Guys, we have a bunch of dogs on this team. It is so rare in sports where everyone buys in and actually likes to play ball with one another and that’s the culture we have with Magic basketball right now.
We need shooters, that part we all know, but as long as we keep our dogs then we are in for a fun time these next few seasons. The league may finally wake up to the budding superstar we have in Paolo and a DPOY candidate in Jalen.
Love this team. Love this coach. Love what the future holds and I’m already looking forward to next October. Go Magic.
Well, better luck next year I guess.
But yeah, Celtics in 4. And I’m gonna be rooting for the Wolves to win it all this series.
Great season for sure. I came in thinking if we win or lose, it doesn’t matter. But the way this team lost, is a real problem.
I dont want to throw mud at such a successful season with all the young guys playing out their minds, but for them to choke the lead, lose their momentum, heart, and game. They were tanking trash when ahead and got quiet when the crowd woke up and when the other team fired back.
Young guys I know. I cant imagine being in that situation for sure but they all trained for it. They knew the leading was slipping and what did they do? They reverted into playing soft, swiping every time Cleveland took a shot even if it looked terrible, and passing to Paolo to save them. And on the off-chance somebody outside of Paolo/Suggs felt confident they would iso and go inside the paint to get smothered by Mobley and force a dumb shot.
This is on coaching. Markelle wasn’t bad but his usefulness this series was to make tough shots, his playmaking was 100% nonexistent as the only way Markelle plays basketball is to drive into the lane and pass out. THAT DOESNT WORK vs Cleveland. I cant even count the amount of times Markelle got tied up doing the same stupid move. WHY is nobody telling him to try something else. Maybe short passes? MAYBE Lobs? Maybe catching a cutter, but forcing your way into the paint, getting surrounded, trying a pass out that ends up just wasting time half the time or being a to is terrible bball gameplanning. How did we not adjust.
Same with Franz and Paolo. I cant tell you the amount of times Franz and Paolo passed out of a Garland/Mitchell matchup to go after a big. Many of the times Franz went at Mobley. Yes we know Franz can beat Mobley but not from a standstill and not without taking a tricky layup. Only directly at him is just going to get you blocked and the fact they tried it is benchable. A real coach should have brought these points out.
Paolo had great passes that had guys miss open shots. But again we don’t always have to shoot the 3. These guys were shooting 3’s like its our forte. That’s how this team lost the lead. By experimenting instead of sticking to basics. This may be a problem of their age/experience but once you have a big lead, the coaches job is to make the players understand that all they have to do is maintain it not widen it. Mosley may have said that, I am sure he did, but once the players started shooting the ball like they were GSW, he needed to make huge adjustments, just to keep us in the game. I am seriously mad that he never did it. Even if we lost right now, I do not believe I would have faulted him if he pulled Wendell after he took a mini hook shot under the rim while guarded by Mobley. AGAIN WHY IS EVERYBODY TESTING MOBLEY UNDER THE RIM WHILE SHOOTING FROM A STANDSTILL?
I know its all about experience and building for the future, but many many bad habits keep popping up that should have been addressed. If they were addressed and the players still reverted, Mosley needed to make moves so we can keep our lead. I understand if he is unwilling to make moves when we are behind but close but if players are not rebounding and watching (at one point Paolo was guarding Cole and never jumped for a rebound letting a Cav guard get it (his bad habit) ).
I dont want to feel sour about a successful season truly. I was ok with losing a blowout, or a close game, or even letting a lead slip but this was terrible on many levels and its toeing an all time collapse. These guys reverted to selfish, scared, disorganized, low energy and iq basketball.
Seriously do think this is close to the straw that broke the camel’s back. If we just lost straight up, its ok. Its not about the personal emotions (mine), or getting mad about losing a lead. Its about the way they the players lost, the way they played, the way they communicated, the way they gave up. Lost momentum, lost confidence, lost heart, lost hustle, and ultimately lost the game and it all comes back to not having a great offensive system and to the coach not using any of the 3rd stringers (who are clearly better than most teams 3rd stringers and can and have brought synergistic elements to this team). Mosley needed to adjust, needed to hold players accountable, yes we had the lead because of the great play, but once the lead was slipping, adjustments needed to be made, spare no feelings and get the win first then talk about it later. Franz needed to be benched for an extended period of time. AB and Goga with some other bench players would have done so much. How does Markelle have 0 assist (this is a rhetorical question, I mentioned how this happened above )?
No blaming should happen, a great series, but I need this FO to be a real FO. Make real moves. Figure out real rotations and stop defaulting to forced lineups because of vet experience or contract. AB and Goga being no shows/DNPs does irk me. Next season this team should have changes but over that we need to actually set a system and true culture as all this win committee stuff doesn’t work. Paolo is our #1 option, Franz needs to be consistent or benched when looking inconsistent. I would have benched him long ago and give Moe more minutes this game to just maintain that lead. Yes, Franz defense has been great even this game but if he is scared of the moment, get him to sit and get adjusted. Don’t let them suffer in the moment while struggling. We had the lead and should have made sure to maintain. And the fact that it slipped so easily is blamable to coaching staff.
Tough loss for sure especially because we were up so big in the 2nd. But these guys will be back next year, with some playoff experience under their belts, and hopefully a couple added pieces to make us even better. They played their hearts out, and myself as a fan, I can’t ask for anything more than that. Proud of these young men, and look forward to many years of success in the playoffs!
Please get rid off Harris and Ingles and sign some actual lockdown shooters …..
That season was a blast to watch I don’t care how bad it sucks for them to lose a game 7. Also I take pleasure in how bad Cleveland will be next year without Donovan
Obviously disappointing, but so proud of these lads. Future is bright, everyone – we’ll be back next post-season even stronger.
*Donovan Mitchell, bloody hell lad, what a player.*
Nothing changed. We have some very talented young stars who learned from the experience and will come back stronger from it. And our defense is legit. On the other hand, we desperately need shooting and a more steady hand at the point.
Sad for Franz, though. I’m confident he’ll bounce back but it still sucks.
future is bright. get a couple of more shooters and we could make a deep post-season run next year.
We need a point guard…one that can shoot….and shooting off the bench…not fucking old ass Ingles moving in slow motion…
Dude we’re receiving a lot of praise from the media and current/former players on social media. That’s vital in changing the narrative around Orlando being an irrelevant franchise that’s going nowhere. Getting the first pick and selecting Paolo sped up our rebuild and is quickly cementing our franchise as one to take seriously.
Franz Wagner what the fuck was that buddy? Yikes
hating ingles, a vet min guy that played 5 minutes is weird
Good season lads, unfortunate shots weren’t falling in. It be like that some nights.
A great learning experience, let’s see how we do next year!
I love this team. I watched every single game. The future is so bright.
Lot of time for summer speculation. Probably the most likable group of Magic players I’ve ever rooted for. They were a joy to watch this season.
Role players can only do so much in the playoffs. When your second best player shoots 6% from the field in a close out game you ain’t winning shit period. Surprised people are blaming this on anyone but him
Frank 1-15, gutless performance. Bum.
Not as active on here anymore but had to come and say that yeah it’s a disappointing loss, but ultimately our youth and lack of shooting came to bite us in the ass.
We won 47 games and took a first round series to 7 games after the first two games looked bleak af. How anyone could be mad or disappointed at the season as a whole is beyond me.
We’re ahead of schedule. Now the front office has to make the moves and the players need to improve their game in order to “level up.”
We’re in a good place.
Hell of a series, Magic. Yall on deck!
We’re one player away from being a legit contender in the east. We get an all star level player and we’re winning 52+ games next year
They went sooo cold and then their defense went out of the window.
Claire here said it best. I remember Penny and Shaq getting bounced by the Pacers their first year. Brought in Grant and changed the team.
https://x.com/clairempls/status/1787208195632685074?s=46
Magic fans yall really thought you could beat the Knicks in the series and couldn’t even beat the Cavs with no Jarrett Allen. 😂😂😂 at least yall got a cool song but that’s about it hahahhha
Thanks for a great series
Going from up 18 to losing by 12 is the worst part of it all. Team needs a #2 star behind Paolo (Franz is not it), and guys who can make an open 3.
Ah well. On to tankathon.
This stinks. It really does. I had so much conviction in our boys this year and they exceeded expectations. No matter how bad this feels, think about how good it feels to actually care down to the final minutes of a game 7. Thats a great thing to stress about, especially with how young our team is.
I had all my friends texting me telling me that they complete underestimated the magic. Thats when you know the league is respecting where its due. Big time players in the league are praising us and i know there will be bunch of FA’s licking their chops wanting to come play in the O now. They want to come help this team in because they want to win too. Look at the Suns, they are fucked. No elite FA wants to get caught in that scenario. Orlando is doing it right. We built a foundation. (Not to mention no state income tax in FL!)
And seriously, we are SO YOUNG and just came minutes away from being 8 teams left in the league.
Lots to build off of and learn and with the right adjustments, this team’s potential is limitless. Do not be bitter. Dont bash on these young guys. Lets be excited for a big offseason and get right back to work come next playoffs.
Down vote me if you want, but let this be a lesson for what we need to do in the off-season. We are young, but standing put is not the answer. Paulo then everyone else is fair game. You can’t go 1-15 in a game 7 and be an off limits player on the trade market.
