Article by Tyler King is not paywalled.

“Jamal Murray dribbled the ball up the court on the Nuggets’ first possession of the second quarter in Game 1 against the Timberwolves.

Waiting to pick him up at half court and make his life as difficult as possible was someone he’s more than familiar with: Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Both natives of Ontario, Murray and Alexander-Walker are two of the core pieces to what Canada Basketball has built over the last few years and barring health, they’ll be two of the top players on this summer’s team that figures to be a top contender for a medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Right now, they’re both on teams that have their sights set on the Larry O’Brien trophy — but in two weeks, only one of them will still be alive.

One game in, Alexander-Walker’s hungry T-Wolves have the early edge with Game 2 set for 7:30 p.m. on Monday night at Ball Arena. Every basketball fan north of the border will be tuned in.”

BigTimber used NAW wrong last game and Nuggets stripped him midcoourt twice as he tried to walk it up. I think he’s done better in that role in past but it is certainly a weakpoint of his to attack him on. Low experience.

If they refuse to use backup points like Monte or others instead need to take even more advantage of this.

NAW is a scary good perimeter shooter when warmed up. One thing they might improve on this game from last.
