[NBACentral] Paul George’s former teammate, Evan Turner, says George has a “history of not showing up” and believes a duo of Paul George and Joel Embiid would be “soft.”

(Cont) “I never met a human that would let a media rumor drive his energy or personality…You know how soft that team gonna be if he and Embiid go together? It’d probably be the most skilled duo ever since Kobe and Shaq.”

Of all the people I would listen to opinions of theirs, Evan Turner will not be one of them.

Embiid plays through injury everytime, and plays with effort, you can question his shot selection, TO, but he is not soft

These players throwing their former teammates under the bus to kickstart their media and podcast career is so lame

  4. TatersTot

Turner is my generations OG bust

Imagine a 12 year old kid wearing this bums jersey

I mean is everyone forgetting that Playoff-P took off as a perjorative, not a positive? George tried to give himself the nickname and people only started saying it to rag on him because he was playing like ass in the playoffs.

  6. To be fair… i would be worried about PG being another Harden in the playoffs. Embiid needs another team mate who isn’t afraid of the moment, like Maxey. That would be the main argument for Butler

Evan Turner saying this gives me more confidence in PG.

    ET was such a bum

  8. LuckyCulture7

I feel like I am being tricked into wanting PG just to prove this guy wrong.

So he’s saying what we all think deep down but bc he’s the one saying it we’re disagreeing?

  10. throwawayjoeyboots

Yeah I mean he’s probably not wrong.

This bum still scorned from his time here huh

Is that, Evan “I crack at the wind and any sign of adversity” Turner.

Dude needs to stop projecting. Embiid wouldn’t hire this dude to walk his dog, let alone respect his opinion about ball or grit.

  13. I’m highly critical of Embiid’s conditioning and off-season work ethic, but he’s not soft. Nice of Evan to remind us that he’s an idiot.

I kinda believe the same TBH. He’s the absolute worst ‘star’ to pair with Joel, who is susceptible to being dejected when things get tough, losing focus etc. If you are bringing in a veteran superstar to add to the mix, it needs to be one who at least has maturity and leadership skills (lebron) if not a legitimately aggressive attitude (Jimmy).

Someone said it and I agree wit tht someone

In the economy of opinions, having a level-headed and informed take is not how clicks/money is generated. He who says the dumbest shit the loudest gets the money; just look at Bill Simmons. Gilbert Arenas just said that Gobert shouldn’t have missed a game to see his first child be born, that he will have more.

Former players want to be taken seriously, but this is the shit they keep producing. Sports media is so fucked.

The only time I hear about Evan turner is when he’s shitting on someone. Generational clout chaser

Embiid just played a series where he couldn’t come off the court despite one of the most expensive backups in the league while playing on one leg, with no ability to elevate, and bells pallsy AND migraines. He also scored 50 in that condition.

You can call Joel Embiid injury prone, you can call him a flopper but you are really ignorant and stupid if you call him soft.

  19. LordLucasSixers

He’s not wrong but that’s not what yall wanna hear lol

  20. Own_Result3651

It just comes down to the fact that he’s too old with too long of an injury history with not nearly an impressive enough contract season to warrant a max contract for a team with championship aspirations

No one does drama better than NBA players.

  22. ApoliticalAth3ist

All players are soft or losers until they finally win. Remember how dirk was spoken about until he won?

Is Paul george actually bad in the playoffs though? I think he has stinker but gets an unfairly bad rap
