  1. Genuinely struggle to understand the point of working out Jared McCain given both his size (6’3”) and inexperience (he’s a one and done) are either not what we need or an immediate no-go for Steve, and understandably so given we’ve just spent the last two years learning the hard way about what it looks like when you try to force inexperience and veteran players trying to win, which is resounding mediocrity.

I know it’s very early but are we just disregarding centers again

  3. Which 6’2 to 6’4 guards will they pick up this time?

I’m cool with drafting wing players as they back up our over all defensive ceiling. When it comes to centres tho Rookie centres like trace Jackson Davis don’t come along a lot let alone how we managed to steal him so low. So the best thing we can do is look forward and see how we can develop our guys.

    For example.

Moody and Lester as the shooting guards and gui at the small forward (sometimes power if we play small since he’s still 6’8 with decent size) need to become a knock down shooters where they take and make atleast 3-4 threes per game. Our issue right now is actually consistent shooting. We need to prioritise that consistency.

Our wing defence is somthing we can actually be very proud about. Our size at the defensive 2-3 spots are quite good. It’s the 4-5 and the 1 spots that are a little undersized or not backed up. (Trace and loony are really the only true centre forwards that can provide proper rim protection; trace carrying most of that load alongside Draymond since he’s so versatile)

We also have Usman Garuba who’s a young g guy but has an image defensive ability to guard from 3-5 since he’s so long he can shot block well. He can also shoot the three so he can actually provide a lot of spacing at the 4-5 spot whilst providing ACTUAL defence unlike Dario Saric. Saric is still a good add but he needs time to Jel with the team to be more effective. And idk if I wanna give up that stretch 4 size at 6’10 so easily.

We will find our back up centre through the buy out market or free agency. Or WORST CASE through trade.

We need to get a serviceable big that can run protect above all else (we had AMIDA Brimah – a 6’10 athletic shot blocker who is now the leader in the g league for blocks – but idk why we let him go) so we need to possible test free agency or any other potential candidates like Dwight Howard again on a vet min. Etc; we can only try to get one guy and he needs to be a solid guy at the centre spot to back us up. Trace is doing great as a starter.

Our point guards are actually really good. We have Steph and cp3 who are obviously great but aging; but we have Brandon Podz and somtimes even Lester Quinyones who is much better than who we previously had with Corey Joseph. Tuff that we didn’t just get a trade with him; Luke truely we could have gotten SOMETHING out of that img ass trade; even some g league players.

We have a few more capable wings in the g league as well and an athletic as fuck shooting guard by the name of Donavan Williams. We also signed a new centre aged 24-25 I think; 6-11 Nate Robinson. He actuall looks perfect in terms of a serviceable back up big who can shot block and sit in the dunker spot. But I’m not sure where his ceiling is at. But atleast he’s a big body.

Any who. All this being said. When it comes to draft prospects at the 14th pick; we have to get lucky or we stick with solid 3 and D wings that we can develop in our high motion cutting and shooting system. It’s what makes our offense great. So let’s double down and hone in on our strengths; whilst utilising the amazing pieces like Trace Jackson Davis and more to our advantage when we need it.
