So looking down this list, there are several potential ones imo.
Following the lead of Seattle, I’m totally cool if Yeti or Mammoth ends up being a finalist.
Utah HC, while not very exciting, does stand out from the rest of the NHL, which is a plus.
Finally, I know it’s corny, but Utah Black Diamonds, in a nod to difficult terrain and the ski industry is a potentially creative touch.

Just from reading the comments on social media, it’s pretty apparent that no matter what is picked, people will be pissed. It’s gonna be like the flag thing all over again where people just refuse to accept and move on.

I’m going hard to get everyone to vote black diamonds. I don’t want some stupid yeti (that’s a mascot, not a team name)
Everyone. VOTE BLACK DIAMOND. PERFECT NAME.
Its far more layered than anything else in this list. And it checks every box a team name should have.
1) reflects the sport. deals with winter, snow, ice – which hockey should.
2) reflects the state. Utah has some of the best snow on earth for winter sports. So it’s a name that reflects our state.
3) the idea evokes something that will be difficult, hard on the body, a grind. (Black diamonds are the hardest obstacles in skiing/snowboarding) (hockey is known for being a physically demanding contact sport)
I can’t emphasize enough how perfect of a name it is. The logo’s and designs for the team would be amazing. The merch would be awesome. It is just miles above everything else mentioned.

I’ve always been a Yeti guy. But I like the idea of Outlaws. Think we will end up with a cool name either way. Mammoth seems cool too.
