[Noa Dalzell 🏀] Wild stat from tonight: Every single Cavaliers player shot 50% or better from the field. For the Celtics, the only rotation player who did was Payton Pritchard.

Anybody that doesn’t acknowledge that there was shooting variance this game is silly.

Anybody that just chalks it up to shooting variance and overlook our poor effort, defense, and execution is also being silly.

We just got out ass kicked, doesn’t mean we’re gonna lose the series, it also is not a great look as a team that’s at home that’s a better team that has always struggled with consistent focus and effort in the playoffs which is part of the reason they haven’t won a championship.

They’ll likely respond, we’ll likely still win this series and make the finals. But it’s absolutely valid to criticize this team and have worries about winning a chip after a performance like that.

It’s wild how both our playoff losses are dude to wierd and wild anomalies

Why is this a mirror image of game 2 last round, and why do I find it funny?

It was like the exact same energy, except without the Miami weird.

But also shitty defense both games.

Regardless the team needs to summon more hunger for these games. Shit, maybe that’s why they have these games. Traditionally this season games like these were followed by long win streaks.

And the reigning champs with the current MVP just got torched at home two games in a row.

OKC just had a bout of this themselves with PJ Washington going 7-11 from 3, despite shooting 31% from 3 this year.

Part of me wishes we would have a game or two where it’s really close, and we have to actually play winning basketball and make big plays with the game on the line.

So far, ALL our playoff games have been 15+ margins , and I think the average is more like 20+.

We need some big moments in the clutch.

Are we gonna do this “fuck this team and we are all going to die” thing every time our opponents have a historic shooting night and we win in 5 instead of in 4

I feel like the team hasn’t adjusted to the level of play at home in the playoffs. They seem to get complacent, like we’ve dominated here all season and the opposing team is going to come in and roll over. The Garden is a hellish place to play as an opposing team and maybe they just don’t want do deal with it during the regular season, but in the playoffs all the chips are on the table

We definitely could’ve played better defense in the paint, but honestly almost all of Cleveland’s looks outside the paint were contested, they just kept hitting absurd shot after absurd shot. Meanwhile from Q1 we had great drives leading to easy bunnies just rolling out of the rim, our corner 3’s refused to fall, and we weren’t able to eat in transition enough because Cleveland kept hitting tough shots. Weird game, would’ve liked a bit of better effort but this is the definition of “chalk it up to the numbers, move on and kick their asses the next 3 games”
