Donovan Mitchell showing why the Brooklyn Nets should add him this offseason?
Donovan Mitchell led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a big win over the Celtics in Boston on Thursday. It was a somewhat shocking result, though starts to cement Mitchell’s place among players who can take over games or even series in the playoffs.
Should this move the needle with the Nets front office, or even the fans about what the team should potentially give up to add Donovan Mitchell to the roster this offseason?

At the end of the day if Donovan Mitchell is available this summer which is very likely Brooklyn should make an offer and see what kind of market or bidding war develops for Mitchell. If Brooklyn feels like their offer is enough and Mitchell has them as one of his top two options they should leave their offer and not bid against themselves….
If Mitchell comes to Brooklyn the Nets will be better and have a central piece in their new core to lead this new era for Brooklyn…..
Donovan Mitchell is top ten in playoff points per game averages all time and he's showing why he's a needle mover….
Honestly if it wasn't for Mitchell literally carrying the Cavs through that Magic series the Cavs would have lost…
Mitchell is an ultimate competitor who doesn't mind being the alpha or lead quarterback to win a game but he instantly makes his teammates better especially if he has the right combination of players around him 😎….
At the end of the day we need to look at the context of a trade package for Mitchell and the fact that he's technically on a one year deal especially given he's likely to decline his 2025 option and test free agency….
So in that case the Cavs are likely going to target matching salary and draft picks for Mitchell especially because they will likely pivot to using the picks to acquire another star to pair with Garland and Mobley or draft more prospects….
Brooklyn should likely offer Dorian Finney Smith Cam Johnson the Suns 2025 pick the Mavs pick and the 76er pick for Mitchell….
3 picks might seem like a lot but Brooklyn would still have 7 picks to make potential upgrades in the future as well….
If Brooklyn is willing and somehow is able to let go of Ben Simmons, I would go for BOTH Donovan M and Yimmy Butler. Of course this is a pipe dream, and no you can't have what I'm smoking.
Spider for Simmons and a sandwich sounds pretty good to me
How do you know the Knicks could play the Celtics? You don't know if Cleveland will win the series or not. Last night proved it.
My question when it comes to mitchell is always ok.
1. How much is it going to cost?
2. Are you going to have enough to get that number 1 option that really makes you a title favorite?
IF there's no path way to getting that 1, then it doesn't make sense shooting for the 2 in a costly trade
The cavs without donovan mitchell and a younger evan mobley were a 44 win team. The nets currently are a 32 win team. Im not sure how the nets have a better supporting cast. Mobley is a better player than Claxton he's just as lethal of a defender and he's way more complete offensively. Garlandis also better than bridges
