Detroit, Washington, Charlotte, and us all have *basically* the same chance of getting the #1 pick. That’s kind of nuts.

Obviously hoping for the best, but worth noting that we have a higher chance of landing the 6th or 7th pick than we do of securing a pick in the top 3, so manage expectations accordingly.

Getting #4-7 might benefit Portland more in this draft just like it benefited Portland enough to be in the position for Sharpe rather than Jabari Smith Jr or Jaden Ivey (yeah yeah, I know Sharpe still hasn’t fully proven himself but I can tell you Portland fans are more excited for Sharpe than the other teams with their players).
There’s no AD, Wemby, Zion, etc waiting at the top and it’s probably expected that players Portland doesn’t need like Clingan/Topic/Sheppard/Dillingham will go in the Top 5.
Therefore, it’d be better if Portland evaluates players like Williams, Buzelis, Holland, Castle and finds the star amongst that lot.
