The team needs to support this man for sticking his neck out there for them like he did (preferably with a win).

So what about the 78 calls they submitted? What good did any of that do?

I’m an out of town Pacers fan, so figured I’d weigh in since I live in Jersey

Most basketball fans are pretty quick to admit there might be something going on, but I barely know any Knicks fans so I can’t speak for them as a whole. The radio shows, on the other hand, are spitting the party line that there is absolutely no conspiracy, and it’s ridiculous that people think there may be. One radio show yesterday called it “a problem” that people believe the NBA pushes big market teams, while one on the drive in this morning said something along the lines of “Have there been corrupt refs in the past (Tim Donaghy)?Sure. Have there been problems with gambling recently in the league (Porter)? Sure. Could it happen again? Potentially. But to think there’s some league-wide conspiracy is just ridiculous”

Nothing too surprising, but that’s the POV of being in enemy territory on this one

I would have just tossed 1/3 of an ice pack on the court.

  5. The refs even admitted to some of these terrible calls, but restating the obvious is apparently unacceptable.

The league can criticize and say things, refs can fuck up calls, but you can’t say nothing?

our coach getting a fine because he’s willing to put the refs on blast while he watched the league’s commissioner in the stands in his home town let them ref like complete shit?

Imagine getting a deduction in pay because you spoke to your boss about wrongdoings in the work place?

The narrative from Knicks fans (aka r/nba) has been that while there have been some bad calls, the officiating has been pretty good overall, and that the refs aren’t the main reason the Pacers lost those two games. While that is true that you can’t blame the refs exclusively, they play a large part in the losses.

A part of me hopes that the refs make a horrific bad call against them in crunch time (like the Turner screen) and watch them implode and start talking about how they were cheated, and how this call was different and matters way more.

That’s just the salty part of me though. What I want more than anything is just a well officiated game. The refs aren’t going to be perfect. They never are. I would just hope that the mix of good/bad calls start to even out. It’s pretty damn lopsided at this point.

Thank God for people like him. As a neutral fan, those two games (especially game 1) were disgusting. It gave me that feeling of “why do I even watch this”
