“It worked out in our favor tonight. Just want him to go up to that line and shoot confidently.”
Kyrie Irving on his advice to Dereck Lively II during Hack-A-Lively:
“We came back to the bench and I was like man you don’t have to do all that, just let them foul you, accept it, take it as a compliment, and go up there and knock down your free throw. We believe in you…He… pic.twitter.com/UZnrXdL2vZ

watched the video of him getting chased when they were going with hack a lively and it’s insane how quick he is and how he runs like he’s like a guard
I sometimes find it hilarious when Kyrie asks a question back to the media they think he might be getting mad and get all flustered trying to answer him lol.
Dude’s just genuinely asking what he said and what it looked like out there.
I fucking love this man
That’s great advice!!
Kyrie is also an assistant coach for us love it!
this is really cool and inspiring. I really like lively because he always just looks like he’s doing whatever it takes for the team to win. I’m glad that he’s supported by the team.
Honestly, I appreciated the chase and running that precious extra time off the clock.
If we win a chip in the next 2-3 years, this guy’s legacy in Dallas will be immense. Love Kai!
Pretty incredible that a Top 5 defense this year resorted to this for 4 possessions in the fourth quarter of a playoff game. Cowardly, too cute from a coaching perspective, and I’m glad it didn’t work.
Let’s try to finish them off asap, because Dort’s playing less and less basketball and more other stuff as they go, and he’s going to hurt someone.
Right now, Kyrie is the leader of this team.
Hack a lively backfired for another reason. It gave Luka and Kyrie rest. Luka looked really gassed at one point.
Last playoff run, our vocal leader you could say was Dorian, and I love Doe Doe, we all do. But it’s a night and day difference when Kyrie is you’re leader vs Doe
I would run though a wall for Kai.
OKC is so worried in a five-point game with 5 minutes to go that they’re having to do this. That reeks of desperation and lack of faith in your team.
It’s incredible to see Kyrie become leader on this team. He has the respect of everyone
