Jayson Tatum on Making His 5th ECF: “We’re doing something right.” Celtics vs Cavs Game 5 Postgame

BOSTON — Jayson Tatum scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading the Boston Celtics to a 113-98 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, securing their spot in the Eastern Conference finals for the third consecutive season.

The Celtics now await the winner of the series between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers, with New York currently leading 3-2.

Reflecting on his partnership with Jaylen Brown, Tatum said, “We’ve just been in a lot of battles together, seven years as teammates… we understand what we can do individually… each night just kind of presents different challenges and being ready and up for the task to do whatever is needed because both of us are capable on the basketball court to do literally everything.”

  1. JT played much better this series than against Miami hopefully he can kick it up to another level next round

  2. 2 Js combined for 16 out of 32 assists. Has any other Wing duos did that in playoffs & regular season? It helps when you can pass to any teammates who are no less than 35% in 3s and without KP.

  3. JT was still hibernating during heat series, this was his crawling out of the cave moment still half asleep n hungry from a long winters nap

  4. Less go! Don’t settle with the ECF. This is where we need to see that killer instinct and “go all out” attitude to get banner 18🍀

  5. CRAZY that he's only 19 year old 😅🤣😂😅🤣🤣😂😂😅😅😂🤣😂😂😂😂🤣😂😅😅😅😂🤣😂😂😅😅😅😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😅😅😂🤣🤣😂😂😂😂

  6. Draymond Green, in a recent TNT show, insulted the Celtics! He said, Celtics' kept on winning the ECF finals, but it's useless because they haven't won an NBA championship. Please show Draymond that he's wrong this time !

  7. JT really picked up his aggression the last three games, need that to continue towards ECF. Bring us home BIG DUCE 😤💪🏿☘️

  8. I don’t care what ppl say about JT- I wouldn’t want anyone else as the face of this franchise. Anytime his teammates get interviewed they talk about his character & how he’s genuinely a good person. Same with Jaylen. I’ll take that all day & if that makes him “soft” so be it.

  9. As a Celtics fan and lifelong baseball guy, I love JT showing his home town roots with the vintage Red Birds cap, even though I'm Red Sox all the way. Tatum is a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

  10. Joe helping JT develop leadership & accountability. Asking him so he has to decide and take ownership of his decision

Soon Joe won't have to ask, JT will start demanding the opportunity. Once that happens? A leader is born!

  11. Dope hat 👌🏽🫠🫠🙏🏽🙏🏽💥💥💯💯☘️Celtics got this !!! Keep it up. Praying KP is healthy and ready for Eastern conference finals 😎

  12. Boston has none nothing at all!!! Have defeated two totally decimated teams! A fully loaded Miami would have kicked their ass again.

  13. We need to understand that JT is a quiet leader. He's definitely a Kawhi type. He's not going talk this and that, but he'll always answer the bell and be available. Whether he's dinged or not.

JB the same. Maybe a bit more vocal than JT though.

Regardless.. being a Celtics over 45 years… I'm VERY proud they're on our team. Love these on AND off the court. Mature for their age, and as a fanbase man, we are lucky !
