[Sidery] Klutch Sports will indeed meet with the Cavaliers this offseason to facilitate Darius Garland being traded, if Donovan Mitchell decides to stay, @WindhorstESPN confirmed on @ESPNCleveland. The Mitchell/Garland backcourt is on their way to being split up.

I’d really like to have him on the squad tbh.

  2. This is the guy we should go for.

Same age as Vassell. Great fit. Short but can play some defense.

I don’t want Garland on this team. Have you seen this guy in the clutch? He’s such an unclutch player. Why pay him a bunch to be unclutch when we’re already paying Keldon to run into a crowded lane and only be successful 25% of the time?

  4. Some people in this post are ridiculous.

“We want a young point guard who can shoot 3’s and be an elite facilitator”

Darius Garland becomes available after a tough season where he had to sacrifice touches and had to deal with a broken jaw in which he lost 10 pounds of muscle mass.

    “nOoOoOoO nOt LiKe ThAt!!!!”

If the price is right then why not trade for him? He’s young and even made an all star team so I’d be happy for to end up here

  6. If the price is at all reasonable and Luka/Mitchell don’t look like they’re going to hit the market, then go ahead.

People complain about cost, but they act like we only have one shot to trade for a guard. Wemby is only 20 years old. We have at least 10 first-rounders in the next 5 years. Even if took 3 for someone like Garland, and Garland didn’t quite work out, worst case scenario his contract runs out in 2028, then Wemby is still only 24 years old, has 3ish years left on his rookie max extension, and we still have a ton of first-rounders to trade.

Wemby is going to be an All-NBA player next season. Since there’s no way adding 6 rookies in the next 3 years makes sense for our team, there’s a very real opportunity cost to not using some of them to help our All-NBA player. Looking at this draft, by all accounts it seems like the chance someone like Dillingham, Sheppard, or Topic are as good as Garland was in his last healthy season (genuine All-Star in 2022-23) is exceedingly low. So if the price is reasonable, why not just go get Garland?

If we trade for an all star caliber player they have to be able to be a top 3 option on a championship team. I don’t know if Garland is there. Reminds me a lot of D’Angelo Russell.

Someone give me an idea of what this would cost. I could see them wanting Keldon as a decent shooting wing off the bench, and 3 unprotected firsts? I’m a newer fan so bad at trade valuations I could be way off.

  9. My question is why doesn’t he want to play with Mitchell and what looks to be a pretty decent situation in Cleveland? And the stories that he didn’t get along with Sexton either.

I wouldnt mind getting him especially since his trade value is at a low, but we’d better be sure that he’s the one… the 4/163m left on his contract pretty much means we have no cap space to sign anyone. Giving Vic the max extension will certainly put us into heavy taxes

The responses in this post give me a lot of humility when it comes to the intelligence of our fanbase. Darius Garland is not a player we should be going after.

    Stop with this nonsense.
