We aren’t the wizards. We aren’t going to draft projects.

Noa essengue is better than salaun imo but he’s in the 2025 draft

I like him a lot. That possible backcourt with Wemby I’d be fine with. Pop tried it with Collins with the 5 and Wemby at the 4. But with Wemby at the 5 and salaun at the 4 we become pretty massive as a line up. I appreciate him being well known as a gym rat with solid feel to the game. He’s not known as a great shooter but him being so young with his upside paired with Wemby and sochan as a backcourt with Vassell and a large PG we become super competitive super fast as long as the shooting from everyone improves. We could always lean on our defense with a lot of length at the perimeter really scary in transition

A West Wing scene comes to mind when watching Salaun highlights:
“Russell: You play baseball coach for a moment. Two players run to first. They both have the same time, but one has perfect form, the other, lousy form. Which one do you pick?
Will: The one with lousy form.
Russell: ‘Cause teach him the right form…
Will: And he beats the other guy.”
Salaun is a raw as it gets, but if he’s able to provide this type of play, in a playoff game, in the same professional league that Wemby played for, just imagine what he can do if he gets developed by a team like the Spurs.
